Our younger years were spent in the bustling city of Minneapolis. Privacy and wide open spaces drew us here. My father loved to fish walleye. The abundance of large walleye in the Missouri River made it an easy choice. And then there is the pheasant, dove, deer, goose and duck hunting. They had so many friends and family visiting and enjoying the area that we decided to open a lodge in 2015 for others to enjoy. The Lodge is owned by RIP B & B LLC. A favorite day would be to go fishing and come back for breakfast. Then a drive around the ranch to check the cattle and crops. The drive also allowed us to see deer, coyote, fox, ducks, geese, pheasant, hawks, owls, prairie dogs and other wildlife too. A walk to the river for a swim in the summer. Fall would mean a hunting outing for whatever was in season. Spring would mean time to fix fence. If time permitted, a cookout on the shoreline at night or picnic dinner enjoying the sounds of nature. Star gazing without the interference of lights is wonderful out here. When the northern lights appear they are vivid green, red and yellow.
