Our home property is a classic prairie hunting spot, perfect for upland bird hunters. The landscape is wide and open with subtle rolling hills, uninterrupted by cropland or heavy cover. Native grasses dominate the terrain, providing nesting and roosting cover for pheasants, sharp-tailed grouse, and Hungarian partridge.

Pheasants use grassy cover near water sources and low-lying terrain. Best hunted with dogs pushing edges and small draws.

Sharpies can be found higher on the rolling ground in native grasses. Look for birds early or late in the day around mixed cover transitions.

Huns frequently flush in coveys from drier hillsides or near lightly grazed areas—expect fast, low-flying shots in open terrain.

Five stock ponds and a spring-fed creek that winds for two miles through the property serve as the main water sources and key hotspots for doves especially. The combination of open terrain and lightly rolling contours offers long sightlines and room to walk, making it a solid choice for hunters looking to cover ground and work dogs in classic prairie fashion.

This property also borders more than 1,000 acres of South Dakota state walk-in land, giving guests additional access to hunt adjacent public ground at no extra cost. These acres can be freely explored as part of your hunt, offering even more room to roam in a lightly pressured part of the state.

Access across the property is straightforward, with vehicle access near primary hunting areas and plenty of space to work with.
