Tucked along the rim of the Dolores River in the scenic southwest corner of Colorado, this 3,000-acre, fourth-generation cattle ranch offers a rare blend of working land, premier hunting habitat, and unmatched recreational access. Set at 7,000 feet elevation between Mesa Verde National Park and Moab, Utah, the property lies in a region renowned for its abundant wildlife and outdoor appeal. Since its homesteading in 1917, the ranch has evolved with a regenerative focus—introducing rotational grazing and forage diversity—while maintaining its legacy as a summer cattle operation.

The landscape rolls through sagebrush flats, brushy coulees, and deeply cut draws that create natural movement corridors and bedding areas for game. Cover crops, hay, and native grasses provide consistent food sources, while ponds and the nearby Dolores River—just 500 yards from the property—ensure ample water. In winter, hundreds of elk descend into the area, joined by resident deer, bear, mountain lions, coyotes, and a variety of bird species. It's a dynamic, year-round habitat that supports a robust population of wildlife and offers excellent hunting opportunities.

The ranch provides guided and semi-guided archery hunts for elk and mule deer. Hunters can take advantage of natural terrain features, well-established game routes, and deep local knowledge in Units 711 and 72. Varmint hunters can pursue coyotes and prairie dogs across open flats, while long-range shooting setups and multi-location courses add variety for marksmen. With camping and fishing options nearby, the experience extends beyond the hunt.

On-site lodging includes a solar-powered cabin with two bedrooms—one with two twin beds and another with ten twin beds and a cozy sitting area—along with two bathrooms, making it an ideal setup for groups. Each log bed is unique with gun racks and shelves. A separate cook shack offers a convenient gathering space for meals and downtime. Whether you’re glassing for game, taking in panoramic views from the canyon rim, or settling in after a day in the field, this ranch offers a grounded and memorable experience in one of Colorado’s most recreation-rich regions.

I'm a fourth-generation rancher. My great-grandpa homesteaded this land back in 1917. Over the years, we've shifted from row crops to a regenerative livestock operation focused on cattle and pigs, using rotational grazing and perennial cover crops. I started outfitting in 2005 and have built up a strong client base for elk and mule deer hunts, especially during the later rifle seasons when thousands of elk migrate through our property. We're now expanding into big game hunts during archery season, long-range shooting experiences, and other outdoor activities, and I’m excited to share what we’ve built here with guests who appreciate land, wildlife, and authentic Western experiences.
