Gator Hunt - 2 Nights All Inclusiveat Live Oak Plantation

Package Includes
2 Guests
2 Days
Lodging

Live Oak has been involved in alligator conservation, harvesting, and egg collection since the beginning of the program 35 years ago when the alligator was on the endangered list. The alligator was pronounced fully recovered in 1987, making it one of the first endangered species success stories.

While we can’t guarantee gator size, this is an unforgettable opportunity for passionate outdoorsmen to experience Louisiana gator hunting at its best. Our all-inclusive package features two nights at our premier, historic Main Lodge and two days of guided hunting. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and authentic Cajun dinner each day—plus beverages to keep you refreshed.

One morning over breakfast, biologist Mark Shirley, recently retired Louisiana Sea Grant and LSU AgCenter marine extension agent joins us to share the rich history and biology of the American alligator. He brings a wealth of stories, answers all your questions, and even introduces a special “guest.” Mark typically spends the day with us, offering fascinating insight and knowledge throughout the experience.

Beyond the hunt, we take you on a wildlife cruise to explore the farm and its workings, and invite you to a sunset tower experience with appetizers. Every trip is one-of-a-kind, with plenty of chances to learn, relax, and soak in the wild beauty of our land.

Weapons and ammo are provided. $1800 per person includes one tag for an alligator 6ft 11” or less. If you decide to keep a hide larger than this or additional gators harvested you’ll simply pay the market rate for tags—no markup, no surprises. Tanning and manufacturing costs are separate but we guide you through this creating a hassle-free process for you.

Our Main Lodge

* 6 bedroom, 5 1/2 bath, larger dining area, fully-stocked kitchen, bar, multiple lounge areas, and upstairs and downstairs game rooms. A fireplace, front and back large porches, washer/dryer, DirectTV, and barbeque pits.

* Small pond access, river view, pollinator garden, and campfire area.

Pricing & Booking Details

The all-inclusive gator hunting experience is $1,800 per hunter. Your group will have exclusive access to the farm—no other parties will be present during your stay. This is a fully guided hunt, designed to offer a personalized, high-quality experience from start to finish.

Non-hunting guests or spectators are welcome for a fee of $100 per person.

We’re happy to customize your trip to best suit your group.

What to Expect

Our hunts take place in Vermilion Parish, located in the West Zone for Louisiana alligator season. Anyone who plans to shoot an alligator must obtain an Alligator Sport Hunter license. The license fee is $25 for Louisiana residents and $150 for non-residents. While licenses are not included in your booking, you can purchase one online at the following link:

We recommend arriving the afternoon or evening before your first hunt to enjoy your included Cajun dinner and a relaxing night at the lodge. This arrival evening is considered one of your two included nights. Depending on your arrival time, we can adjust the hunting schedule accordingly.

Every hunt is fully guided and personalized to maximize your chances of success. While weather and temperature can impact both the hunting and overall experience, our mission is to do everything possible to make your trip a success and deliver the best we have to offer. This is your adventure, and if weather conditions prevent travel, we’re happy to work with you on rescheduling.

Before You Arrive

To secure your booking, we’ll need the number of guests in your group, how many will be hunting, and how many are attending as spectators. Please also let us know of any dietary restrictions or special requests. A non refundable deposit is due at time of booking. Full payment is due before arrival.

We’re here to make this trip unforgettable—don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or to begin planning your adventure!
