Hunt Modoc County mule deer here in Northern CA!

We are located in Zone X3A for deer hunters.

We see a good amount of deer activity in the pasture and concentrated by the river. Plenty of visibility for rifle hunters and bowhunters alike. 

River bottom country like this pulls mule deer through the riparian corridors along the water's edge, especially early and late in the day. The terrain follows the river, with planted fields and pasture on both sides of the water. A second field on the far bank is accessible by foot.

Here in Northern California's Modoc County, we are situated near multiple big swathes of National Forest, in addition to some nearby mountain ranges. Down in the valley, conditions are more arid; however, with the river, we see a lot of consistent wildlife activity. We are also just across the highway from a large reservoir, so plenty of water to go around.

We run a 1st-generation working livestock operation out of Lookout, California, with roots on this ground going back to the 1800s. We are focused on raising animals in a transparent way, specifically Belted Galloways, or Belties, along with pork and poultry. The ranch covers 70 acres of pasture and river bottom terrain, with direct frontage to the Pit River. Private bank access totals out to about 0.6 miles.

Catfishing in the Pit River is included with all hunts.
