Bird Watchingat Parker Creek Ranch
Full access (DIY) birdwatching for one day to 400+ acres of the ranch that lies within the Tamualipan Thornscrub eco region. Our ranch is a scenic location within the Seco Valley. As you enter the ranch there is a large hill overlooking the Parker and Seco Creek. It's a fantastic location for watching a wide array of birds. Common species include Summer Tanager, Painted Bunting, Northern Cardinal, Orioles, Wrens, Crested Caracara, hawks, Blue Herons, Green Herons and so many more. We also have a healthy population of more rare birds such as Western Burrowing Owls during the fall and winter months.
We have several ponds on the ranch and feeding stations (with blinds and chairs) to comfortably enjoy birdwatching. You may also spend your time meandering the Parker Creek or walking the many trails on the ranch. Please contact us for more information or if you would like a guided tour at an additional cost.

Born and raised on the same ranch where I reside with my family today. I developed a deep love and appreciation for the outdoors. I enjoy fly fishing with a kayak or wading a small creek. Being just a few hours from the Texas coast I also enjoy chasing Redfish, trout and drum in the bays. My favorite time is a good Fall deer hunt. The harvest ends with turning all of this amazing meat into sausages, Biltong and other foods to nourish my family.
