Rosalee was very responsive and I never had any issue getting ahold of her. She was very polite and accommodating. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, my trip was cut short and I did not get to see all of the property I had reserved nor did I get to meet her in person. My reservation included access to her Southeast property in conjunction with the Northwest property. So much of Kansas has been tilled and planted from road to road and I couldn't help but smile when I pulled up to Rosalee's land - water, timber, grasses, forbs, and ample signs of wildlife throughout. A breath of fresh air (figuratively and literally)! NW Property: The NW property had many of the necessary components of what a bird hunter is looking for but by the time I visited in mid-December, much of the NW property had been hayed leaving minimal cover for game birds. I did make the effort to walk the full property and my dog pointed a few hen pheasants but we did not find any roosters. It should be noted that I did observe rooster pheasants from the road in the surrounding area, just not on Rosalee's property on the day I was present. I observed rubs and scrapes and this is likely a place to catch a buck traveling, but a hunter would struggle to find a place to put a tree stand and would likely need to use a ground blind. The only game observed on this parcel on this day was hen pheasants but game populations fluctuate day to day so I believe the listing here to be accurate. I suspect the timing of access to this parcel - what is planted and when it is cut - is the key to success whether that be for game birds or whitetail deer. SE Property: I had to leave due to a family emergency before I could see all of this parcel but what I did get to see was wonderful. The riparian corridor through the middle undoubtedly serves as a fantastic home for whitetail, turkey, and various small game species. I personally observed bobwhite quail, mourning doves, cottontail rabbits, and fox squirrels. I also observed extensive deer sign and stumbled across a few turkey feathers. I'm confident a skilled whitetail hunter could fill their tag here and I suspect this is a great turkey hunting destination as well. There's no shortage of trees to hang a stand and natural pinch points occur where the fields are planted. At the time of visit, mid December, winter wheat was coming up. A wide variety of non-game birds were observed as well. 30 minutes Northwest of Salina and I-70, RT Farms is just far enough away that you get to experience rural Kansas, but just close enough to a city that you won't be up a creek if you forget your socks, gun oil, or other trip necessities. Minneapolis, KS is even closer to the property for a quick bite to eat from a couple of small restaurants. If the restaurants available aren't quite what you're in the mood for, you can surely scrounge something up from the Casey's gas station or the small grocery store (everything you need, nothing you don't) there in town. Fuel price differences between Salina and Minneapolis were negligible. Roads north of 106 to get to RT Farms are not paved but are in good working condition - a 2WD vehicle may get dirty, but shouldn't have any issues navigating around the area. A quick search on your favorite land access app, such as OnX, will show you a small state fishing lake nearby (where hunting, camping, and fishing are allowed) as well as a smattering of Walk In Hunting Access (WIHA) properties for those wanting to spend more time in the area. I am extremely grateful for the time I spent at RT Farms and I would also like to thank the team at Land Trust for excellent customer service - I felt like everyone involved was passionate about my experience being a positive one. Thank you, Land Trust, and most importantly - thank you, Rosalee!

We hunted the Southeast property on a Thursday, and looked at the Northwest property from the road, as we were scheduled to hunt on Saturday. There was minimal cover and no harvested crop on the property. We decided it was not worthwhile to come back to the area and hunt it. Rosalee was very responsive by text. I did make it clear we were quail hunters, but her response only talked about doves.
