While we don't know exactly what species you can reel in, the pond is exclusive to you and your group, and it does have fish. Mornings, afternoons, and evenings by the water are peaceful and productive, with easy bank access for casting.

Guests can camp on the property by adding on the nightly charge to their booking.

With a quiet setting and easy road access, the land is ideal for tent camping. We also have an electic hookup available as well for bigger rigs.

Our proximity to Lake Red Rock and nearby towns makes it a convenient base for longer weekend stays.

About the Farm:

Tucked between the charming towns of Knoxville and Pella in Marion County, the Southern Iowa Getaway is a 15-acre retreat that has been in our family for four generations. Just a half-mile off a paved road and only a mile from Lake Red Rock, our property features a large pond and a smaller drainage pond, which provide excellent opportunities for fishing and birdwatching. Framed by classic Iowan crop fields, our patch of countryside offers a peaceful escape. 

Pella’s well-known Dutch bakeries and the Tulip Time festival are just seven miles away, while Knoxville, home to world-famous sprint car racing at the Knoxville Raceway dirt track, offers a quick stop for supplies or dinner after a day on the pond. Lake Red Rock, Iowa’s largest lake, is just down the road less than five minutes, providing additional options for boating, fishing, hiking, and public land access. The property is well-suited for tent camping and could accommodate small camper setups with minimal effort for folks looking to take advantage of our close proximity to Lake Red Rock.
