SpringLake Angus Northeast

Nearest Town, Lynch, Nebraska
1,250 acres
Lodging Available
This northeast property features over 950 acres of working cattle ranch land that sits right on top of the aquifer. Located just south of the South Dakota border in O’Neill, NE, the land is made of heavy soil with no irrigation, but features lots of small creeks that run year-round. Notedly, Louse Creek goes right through the property with Red Bird Creek also making a crossing through part of it. With these fresh water sources and the multiple lakes nearby, this land is great for wildlife. Near each water source, there are oak trees and borders, with shrubs, alfalfa fields and corn fields surrounding them.

With water, food, canyons and fields, it’s the perfect habitat for animals to thrive! Specifically, the deer and turkey in the area are bigger and more plentiful than further south. In the winter, deer will stick together in bunches of 75-100, while the Niobrara turkey roam about in hefty flocks.

We are happy to offer our bunk room above the barn, which contains six beds, a bathroom and shower. In addition, we have a full kitchen and liquor license and would be delighted to host you for supper if you’re interested. Otherwise, you are welcome to pitch a tent or stay 20 miles down the road in O’Neill or Lynch, Nebraska. We have buildings you can store and hang up your game in. We are willing to assist in retrieving any game that is difficult to access, such as in a canyon, however, we ask that you respect our time constraints with our daily work.

We have no minimum or maximum number of booking days. Although, we set a high bar for our sportsmen to leave no trace. We pride ourselves very much in our environmental footprint and ask you to respect the land that you are on. We want you to have a great experience out in the wilderness and enjoy the time you have out there!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about SpringLake. Gene and Kelcey were so generous and their cabin is the perfect place to stay! I didn't get to see many deer due to my trip coinciding with a bad cold spell, but there was sign everywhere. Highly recommend booking with them!

Gene, Kelcie, and Candy were very hospitable and made us feel welcome. The Lodging and food was great. They definitely have very good turkey habitat. Spring was late coming in along with a decline in turkey population made the turkey hunting hard. We had a group of four and harvested two nice gobblers. Along with the private ground there are a couple public land properties within a short drive which gives you more dirt to cover. I would go back. The turkeys may move in later in the season and hopefully will increase in population next year. I have found populations are down in Kansas and Missouri as well. Hope it changes.
