Stone Farms
Excellent Spring Turkey Hunting Very Close to Oklahoma City!
We are proud to actively manage this 150-acre pecan orchard and cattle farm here in central Oklahoma, about 45 minutes from the Oklahoma City area. We rotate our cattle with a focus on regenerative production and reducing inputs.
Most of the farm is on a floodplain and has a couple creeks split the ground up. We have convenient highway access on two sides of the farm. We are usually harvesting during deer season and save our deer hunting for a few neighbors, but overall the farm has very low hunting pressure, especially for spring turkeys. I have 1-2 big groups of birds, with hunters stopping by all the time asking for access to hunt them. In the past we have also allowed people to hunt crows and pigs, in large part because they're pests to our pecans. Take a look at our packages, and send us an inquiry if any questions come up!
It is imperative that all closed gates are returned to closed position after you enter/exit. We want to avoid having any cattle stray. Property perimeter is fenced with barbed wire and some electric fence. The fence may be charged depending on where we have cattle, so please be aware of this. We typically check our cattle around 3 in the afternoon, and may conduct farm work near the barns, including moving equipment. The turkeys are pretty used to us being around though, so it should not affect your hunt!
We look forward to having you out!
Important Property Note:
The property's major creek is the Quapaw Creek, and occasionally access across the creek may not be feasible. If the property is flooded and access is not possible, I'm happy to work with you to get you rescheduled. I will keep you updated with creek/flood conditions. Regardless, be prepared to bring gear that can handle these conditions.
