Deer move frequently through the CRP and along the creek bottom, using the grass and brush for bedding and travel between feeding zones. The edges of the corn and soybean fields offer consistent evening activity, making them ideal setups for ground blinds or quiet still-hunting.
Solid Deer Hunting approx. 30 minutes from Ames, ISU. 20 minutes from I-35 corridor to Minneapolis-St Paul (3 hours) to the north and Des Moines to the south (45 minutes).
Just outside the town of Zearing, we have three available parcels, including 33 acres along the Middle Minerva Creek. Best Deer Hunting will be on the Middle Minerva Creek parcel.
We don't have any elevated stands, but there's some good opportunity if you bring a popup blind along the brushy field edges and open draws where deer tend to move during early morning and late afternoon.
This land has been shaped by four generations of cattle and row crop farmers. Today, it’s a mix of CRP ground, brushy edges, and productive ag fields growing corn and soybeans.
