Just over an hour from the Raleigh-Durham area, the Tenant House Preserve here in Warren County offers 67 acres of THICK North Carolina timber that has been stewarded by the same family for over 125 years. 

The acreage breaks down into two parcels: one bigger tract is about 57 acres, with a smaller tract to the north about 4 minutes consisting of about 10 acres. Both parcels are heavily wooded, providing good cover for the wildlife. The bigger parcel shares a portion of cropland (~6 acres), which rotates between soybeans, corn and tobacco. This area of transition from field to woods is a productive spot to catch the deer and turkey as they move from food to cover. The property also offers seasonal creekbottoms.

Primitive camping and RV access is available (no hookups) for hunters who would like to overnight on the property and get after it before first light. Photography, foraging, and shed hunting are also welcome.
