Several water sources on the property, along with a mix of timber, ag plots, and grazing fields, provide excellent habitat for antelope and deer. There is a healthy pheasant population in this area as well.

5.0Mary was very kind and had our cabin completely set up for us before we got there. Clean comfy bed. Plenty of firewood. There property is ideal for deer and elk although we only saw deer there was sign of elk everywhere. Great spot and a couple sheds found. We definitely will come back . Thank you again MARY ,

I had a great time hiking around the ranch. Saw a few deer and a lot of antelope. Just a beautiful peaceful place to unwind. The owner Mary is great and made sure I was well taken care of. I’ll definitely be back!
Reviewed by Guest on April 2024 Saw many mule deer and antelope each day I went out in the field. The property is spectacular in this part of the the state. This was the perfect place for me this hunting season because of my injury I could use the ATV to get around the property and I could drive around a bit too.

This is a great piece of property. I was Mule Deer hunting the last 3 days of the season and still saw a good number of animals. Lots of does and several small bucks. I saw a very nice 4x4 on two different occasions, but could never get a shot that I was comfortable with. There is abundant good habitat - both timber and grassland. Two rustic but nice lodging options . Mary is a fantastic host! She was very helpful with showing us the property boundaries and road accesses. We also loved how knowledgeable she was with the local history. The different ranches and families, and how the current situations came to be. This was the kind of ranch hunt we were hoping for, and would definitely love to return sometime.
Reviewed by Guest on November 2023Rodric and Deb were great guests!!! They were just nice people wanting to experience a little bit of the West. They asked questions, understood the boundaries and were just fine about not tagging anything. The cabin was spotless when they left. I hope they come out again!!!

This property is incredible-beautiful, huge, and full of animal life! We went shed hunting and were not disappointed! We saw deer and antelope and saw signs of elk as well. We also spooked up a black bear who was happy to run away from us. Mary and Paul were extremely friendly and so helpful in explaining where to go and what to look for. We will definitely be back. Although we didn’t stay overnight (this time), we did check out the cabin. It is inviting and they have very obviously planned for enjoyable stays. Thank you!!

Mary was a wonderful host with a very genuine personality. She made sure you knew the land boundaries and suggested some places that the game frequent on a regular basis. The cabin is especially nice, tucked in amongst the pines with all the amenities a person would need and very clean. There ranch is very game rich, both in deer and antelope. I had multiple opportunities every day at bucks but had found two that I spent most of my time trying to get set up on. I would not hesitate to hunt this ranch again, whether it be for deer or antelope. The animals are definitely there.

This was our second trip to the Tender Beef Ranch. The amount of game we saw was impressive to say the least. I had my two teenagers (14 and 15) and both of them harvested cow elk, and each shot a mule deer buck. The (new) cabin is perfect. Plenty of room to stretch out and very comfortable beds. The setting where the cabin is overlooks the pond, plenty of game within view from the cabin, Paul and Mary are the perfect hosts, very helpful and accommodating. We look forward to coming out again next year. Mark T.

The hunting was good, plenty of Mule Deer. We cut some elk tracks near the cabin but never found them. Mary and Paul are awesome and very accommodating. The cabin is small but just right for a dad with two teenagers.

Great people, beautiful ranch! Everything was like they described and saw game every day. Hopefully can bring my boys back one day!
Reviewed by Guest on September 2022 Mary and Paul were great hosts! I took my son on our first antelope and the ranch did not disappoint; multiple stalks on different bucks every day! A lot of open area, timber, and water sources. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone...we will be back!

My husband Paul and I were raised on cattle ranches in Montana. Paul was raised in Sheridan, Montana on the westend of the State and I grew up in the central part of the State in Moore. Both our families have been in the farming and ranching business for over 100 years. We both attended small schools; were active in 4-H; attended and graduated from Montana colleges and have worked all aspects of the cattle ranching business. Paul is partnered in the ranch with his son Kahle and nine months out of the year I teach high school social studies in Billings.
My husband Paul has hunted his whole life in Montana. He has hunted mule deer, white tail, elk, and upland birds. Paul has also fished in Montana from small streams to the Missouri river for trout to paddle fish.
We would love for you to experience our world of being stewards of this fabulous piece of land that is in our care. Hopefully, you will come away with new appreciation for the agriculture and the great outdoors with one visit.
