The Ranch On Goose Creek
Welcome to Mosbarger Family Farms!
Located in Wallace County, the farm is 4,200 contiguous acres with about a 50/50 split of grassland and tillable. For the history buff, there are still signs of the historic Butterfield Trail that once ran through the property. There are over 8 miles of Goose Creek winding through where water will pool year-round from live springs. The tillable acres are in a wheat/corn/fallow rotation with 2/3 of the property in harvested stripper wheat stubble or freshly drilled winter wheat during the hunting season.
This is one of the finest properties around for Western Kansas big game hunting.
This property is for the hunter looking for the ultimate experience with luxury accommodations and unparalleled land access. With much of the topography flat to slightly rolling it's the kind of habitat that attracts large herds of antelope. There is also plenty of rougher topography for stalking nice deer, and one of the best natural water sources in the area with the live springs. The corn acres in rotation on the tillable, in close proximity to a reliable water source, provide the cover big deer are attracted to. While whitetail are present in the area, mule deer are what hunters come to the western 1/3 of Kansas seeking.
The property is located in Unit 2.
Our farming operation has multiple 3,000 to 5,000-acre contiguous properties also located in Unit 2 in addition to those offered at The Ranch on Goose Creek. In the unlikely event you do not find the shooter you are looking for on this property we will be able to point you in another direction.
Pheasant Hunting opportunities available.
Western Kansas has a strong reputation for providing memorable pheasant hunting experiences. We do provide a package to groups looking for a comprehensive hunt. We have an alliance with a local pheasant hunting guide service and well-trained hunting dogs to get you on the roosters. With this package you would be based out of The Ranch on Goose Creek, but also going off-property to find the "honey holes." This package has a minimum party size of 4 people.
Location:
We're located less than 30 miles south of Goodland, Interstate 70, and the Goodland Municipal Airport. The ranch-style home is located just off KS Highway 27 down 2 miles of maintained gravel road. The town of Sharon Springs is located only 3 miles South of the property with access to quality restaurants, a grocery store, and the largest selection of bourbon and whiskey in Western Kansas. From the family room of your accommodations, you have a panoramic view of much of the grassland to the South; while stepping out on the front porch you have an uninterrupted view of the property for 2 1/2 miles across the tillable acres to the North. A combination of maintained and field roads surround the entire property. It's truly a hunter's dream!
The beautiful ranch-style home is the perfect place to retire after the hunt.
We have a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom house ready to go for the serious hunter. The house has been beautifully remodeled with fine furnishings and a western chic aesthetic. Whether you are enjoying dinner in front of the double-sided fireplace, or listening to a vinyl record in the family room with vaulted ceilings you will have a first-class experience.

My passion for hunting not only came from the hunt, but from the comaraderie of those I have spent time hunting with. I belive a successful hunt should include both unparalleld land access and premier accomodations where you can reminisce those old hunting stories. Because of the belief that hunting should be the whole package we offer The Ranch on Goose Creek to be a place to create your own hunting memories.
