Welcome to the Wilds of Emily Creek! We are excited to host concientious hunters and conservationists to experience the splendor and magesty that is Mount Sterling. 1640 acres of land is yours to explore and hunt. This acreage includes plenty of forested areas, many open flats, creeks, ponds, and miles and miles of trails to travel on.
To improve the area for deer season, we have added multiple 1/2 acre ponds for water, and four 1/2 acre food plots. You will have access to several stands and blinds (most brand new) set up in areas our experts have been monitoring all year.
You will also have access to the extensive knowledge and insight of our experts Tommy and Oliver, both who have hunted this area for the last 40 years.
The entirety of the area is accessible via a 4 wheeler or side by side, and the majority of it is accessible by a high-clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle. We have had hunters hunt by foot as well. Although the terrain is mountainous and rugged, the views and wildlife are worth the hike.
Not only will you have a memorable and likely successful hunt, but your contributions will go to making future improvements on the mountain for further conservation and recreation. This site was once a coal mine, but has been in reclamation for decades, and over the last 5 years, our team has removed 300 acres of invasives, and planted over 175,000 trees prodominantly native hardwoods like white oak, hazelnut, chestnut, and others.
Tent or RV camping is available, or there are multiple hotels, restuarants, and grocery stores located in Williamson (30 minutes away) or Pikeville (45 minutes away) to meet your needs.
