Thievin Ranch West
The Thievin Ranch is a 4th-generation ranching operation based out of Daniels County in Northeast Montana. We have just over 8,400 acres of private land in total, in addition to over 12,000 acres of deeded state land. The ranch is split into two separate LandTrust listings, Thievin Ranch West and Thievin Ranch East.
This is our West Listing, which consists of over 4,700 acres.
Our ranch is big, sprawling country with rolling hills and textured draws. We also have an abundance of water sources, especially springs. In addition to our wide-open prairie, we have farm ground, rangeland, and CRP grasses all available to sportsmen during their booking.
Our habitat, plus the size of the ranch, makes for excellent deer hunting for both whitetail and mule deer. Antelope hunters are also welcome to hunt the ranch. Big Game Hunters will have access to our entire 8,400 acres across both listings. You can book the package below.
Our CRP grass and prairie are great for sharptail grouse hunting with the occasional pheasant. Long-range riflemen are invited to smoke some of our gopher and coyote population as well.
We are pleased to offer very affordable freezer-filler doe hunts at just $25 per person per day. This is a great option for youth, first-time, or novice hunters.
Multi-day bookings are encouraged! Guests can book a night of RV access or request to add it on to their hunt.
We are just under a 45-minute drive from Scobey, MT.
Ranch Update 9/8/23: We have split our original listing into two separate listings to give upland bird hunters more opportunities. We will still be offering big game hunts, which will give sportsmen access to the total acreage of both listings. All sportsmen who have booked any hunt (big game or upland) prior to this date will have exclusive access to the full acreage of both listings as advertised when you booked the package. Please contact LandTrust with any questions at (406) 709-8450.

This is a spectacular property! We saw several groups of whitetails and mule deer around the ranch. They seem to really like to hang out in the draws and near the springs. We also spotted a small herd of antelope in the distance during my visit.
