Wapiti Ridge Cabin
Wapiti Ridge Cabin is the perfect basecamp for anyone looking to experience the Big Snowy Mountains of Montana and its surrounding areas. Our fully-furnished, 2-bedroom lodge sits on a secluded 20-acre parcel a little more than twenty miles from Lewistown. This parcel borders 640 acres of State Public Land with very limited access that has some great potential for hunting.
The lodge features one-of-a-kind access to big and little snowy mountains on route 238 ( Red Hill Road) with close access to improved forest service trails into Half Moon Canyon, Maynard Ridge to Top of Snowy Mountains, and across the Big Snowy mountains, with abundant opportunities for guests to hunt, fish, hike, and mountain bike.
Our lodge can comfortably sleep as many as five guests. The lodge doesn't have any wifi or cell service (walk just up the hill to get mobile service), which gives guests the chance to get off-grid and enjoy all that the area has to offer.
The lodge does not have any clean drinking water available, so we recommend bringing in your water for your stay; however, we will also provide 5 gallons of drinking water.
The Lodge does feature indoor plumbing, full kitchen including oven and microwave, dining area, two bedrooms, and a cozy living/sitting room. Features three porches to relax any time of day.
For hunting groups, we request a minimum stay of five nights. For fishing and outdoor groups, we request a minimum stay of two nights.
The Wildlife is amazing - Elk, Bear, Muley, WhiteTail, Mountain Lions, Turkeys, and Blue and Mountain Grouse.
Whether hunting in fall for all the big Game, spring for Bear or Turkeys, Shed hunting local access areas, or hiking in for cutthroat trout, or hiking or biking the Big Snowy Mountain - the Wapiti Ridge Cabin is central to it all.
We look forward to sharing our piece of the Montana wilderness with you!

Located on the northeastern corner of the Big Snowies, Wapiti Ridge is in the heart of elk country. The thick timber is home to elk, deer, bear, and small game. State lands to the northeast of the ranch have a reservoir that wildlife use frequently, and recreators have easy access to the Snowies.

5.0The cabin is comfortable and quaint in the Snowy mountains. The facility is easy accessible. It is a game rich area, but you will need a the special permit bull tag if you want to hunt there, Cow tags are available anyone who wants to do a mountain hunt. Lot's of private land surrounding the property access is limited. Would like to go back if you can draw a tag.Kevin is a great host and knowledgeable about the area to put you on game.

I am passionate about archery elk hunting- but more important , passionate about the heiritage of hunting and the outdoors. From camping to hiking and fishing.
My wife is a native of Lewistown, Montana - I am now a 35 year resident having been raised as the son of a career military officer and also spending a career of my own in the military.
We have spent the last 20 years hiking, hunting, fishing and exploring the Big and Little Snowy Mountains and now blessed to have aquired the Wapiti Ridge Cabin in 2019. After much sweat equity - we would love to share our Cabin and what it offers in ways of unique and one of a kind access to US Forest Service, BLM and State Land Trust Lands with other like minded families and their friends.
