Welcome to Windy Creek Farms!

We're a lifetime West Kansas family that has stewarded this stretch of high plains ground for generations, and we're excited to open 2,045 acres to hunters who want access to our private piece of the Sunflower State. We are a dryland grain operation, with wide-open cropland pivots, and brushy corners, with some native grassland pasture. We have our main parcel grouping (7 pivots) that straddles the Grant-Haskell county line, with another few hundred acres + ag pivots just 1-2 miles east. 

Our acreage is about 30 minutes from Garden City where hunters can find hotels and other nearby airbnbs for lodging. We are also about 20 minutes from Ulysses. No overnight stays available at this time.

While cover is limited, we see both whitetail and mule deer moving through our pivots. Pheasant hunting is good in the grassy pasture, brushy edges, and the pivots themselves, along with dove hunting in the early parts of the season. Coyote hunts are available for long-range rifle hunters. Limited prairie dog hunting will be available as well.

Elk pictures are mostly eye candy as they are typically seen only during the summer and fall on some our leased land a number of miles west of this main farm.

Note: We are a working farm. Some areas may be off-limits during your visit, depending on where we have our cow herd or grain storage bags. Center pivot sprinklers with drop nozzles will be off-limits as well. We’ll work with you during your trip and communicate accordingly, but please stay clear of these areas and observe all electric wire livestock fences.

Be very fire conscious when driving on two tracks or parking in grassy areas (avoid tall grass).
