Black Canyon Ranch
Bonanza, Oregon, United States
1,100 Acres
Located in Langell Valley just outside Bonanza, Oregon, Black Canyon Ranch offers 1,100 acres of rugged, high desert country in Klamath County. Part of Oregon's Wildlife Unit 75, the ranch is home to mule deer & coyote hunting.
With a rich family ranching legacy dating back to the 1880s, our property is a cattle operation with a blend of irrigated pasture, sub-irrigated meadows, rocky hillsides, and juniper-covered draws that provide excellent cover for game. A network of six ponds, a portion of creek bottom of Miller and Pine creek, and 232 acres of irrigated pasture (fed by a 9-tower pivot and K-Line irrigation) create consistent food and water sources for wildlife across the ranch. Hiking the ranch will offer incredible views of Langell Valley and the rock formations present.
Hunters will have the opportunity to chase mule deer and call coyotes. The topography is classic Eastern Oregon: steep coulees, brushy ridgelines, and open benches.
The ranch borders a large chunk of BLM and the nearest access is 6 miles as the crow flies, so some of it is fairly unpressured near us, while internal fencing, trails, and road access make navigation manageable even in remote areas.
The ranch is about 45 minutes from Klamath Falls-Altamont and about 8 miles as the crow flies from Oregon-California stateline.
We are located near Gerber Reservoir which is popular for crappie and yellow perch fishing as well as bass and trout. Willow Valley Reservoir is also nearby which is also popular for fishing its large and small mouth bass, yellow perch and black and white crappie.
Dry camping is available on the property, offering hunters a rustic, off-grid experience in the heart of the high desert.
Beyond hunting, guests can enjoy birdwatching during peak migrations.
