What an amazing property! Not only is it absolutely beautiful here, but the combination of high ground and creek bottoms is also great habitat and provides abundant opportunities to scout for game. Mitzi informs me that elk love this area and are abundant throughout. Great chance to hunt the Missouri River Breaks!

4.8Met with Mitzi, showed me the gopher place, plus the layout for elk hunting. She was very helpful explaining how to get to the main ranch, plus the location of the cabin. I went and looked around the cabin and surrounding area was very impressed. Then hunted gophers for the next few days. I was really impressed with the number of gophers. Had a ton of fun looking forward to going elk hunting in October and staying in the cabin close to the hunting. Mitzi was a very good host.

This was my first time using Landtrust to book a hunting trip. I was very impressed not only with the staff at Landtrust, but the hunting experience my sons and I had at the Cow Creek Ranch was perfect beyond words. The owners of the ranch were very professional, very accommodating, and easy to communicate with. The hunting area around the ranch is vast. A lot of hiking, and a lot of glassing. The deer and elk have lots of places to hide so you need to be patient. If there’s any kind of rain or snow, you need to be prepared for thick heavy mud also known as gumbo. I will definitely be going back to Cow Creek Ranch with my boys. We created lifelong memories and I’m looking forward to creating more.

Mitzi was helpful before our hunting stay at the cabin, answering questions about the area and the ammenities at the cabin. The cabin is very primitive in that there is no running water, outhouse outside the cabin, electric lights are wired in the cabin however you will need to bring a generator to make lights and outlets work. There was some firewood but not enough for our cold nights. We had to cut some of our own wood. We enjoyed the rustic experience. We did have a problem with the amount of mice in the house... luckily their were traps and we caught plenty. My recommendation for the owner is to mitigate the mice on an ongoing basis. Sleep was a problem because of the critters. All in all a great place to stay if you like rustic and primitive accommodations. Close to good hunting and spectacular scenery in the Missouri River Breaks.
