Little Beaver Creek Ranch
Little Beaver Creek Ranch is in the heart of western Montana, between the historic towns of Trout Creek and Thompson Falls. The ranch is a combination of a historic and working remnant of Montana’s ranching past, and stunning natural beauty - - wide-open meadows with unobstructed views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. Over 4000' of Little Beaver Creek provide the boundary to fenced & cross-fenced hay fields with a backdrop of the Bitterroot and Cabinet Mountains. The scenery is exceptional and area resources are astounding. Finding refuge on the ranch, wildlife is plentiful and diverse.
The nostalgic, red 7,200 square foot, 7-stall barn serves as a functional centerpiece to the property and as a solid scenic landmark. Historic structures abound, with two barns, a carriage house, one-room school house and bunkhouse to explore. A four-bedroom guest house offers short and long-term options for overnight accommodations, including electric vehicle charging stations. RV camping is also available through the LandTrust and Hip Camp programs, creating a basecamp for a variety of recreational opportunities. The setting supports special events, weddings, horse boarding, cattle grazing and other recreational adventures, including winter cross-country skiing, snowshoeing - and, more.
Little Beaver Creek Ranch is surrounded by public lands with miles of backcountry hiking trails, and roads to explore. Additionally, nearby Sex and Cougar Peak historic fire lookouts are available for overnight stays through https://www.recreation.gov/. These area resources also include easy access to the Clark Fork, Flathead, Big Blackfoot, Bull, Yaak and Kootenai Rivers, as well as Noxon Reservoir, Flathead and Pend Oreille Lakes for exceptional boating and fishing opportunities. Sweitzer and Lookout Pass ski resorts are a reasonable drive from the property and offer outstanding skiing and support facilities.
No hunting on property; however, take advantage of our lodging opportunities with close proximity to public hunting access.

This location would be perfect for hunters or fishermen looking for a place to set up for a basecamp during the season with easy access to Montana GMUs 121, 122, and 123. Would also make a great spot to bring the whole family for an exclusive RV experience in NW Montana.

We are former career National Park Rangers and have worked all across our nation, from Virgin Islands National Park, to Yosemite, Sequoia / Kings Canyon, Channel Islands, Whiskeytown; to Grand Canyon, Chiricahua, Fort Bowie and Bryce Canyon; to the Washington, D.C. Headquarters, C&O Canal, Antietam Battlefield, George Washington Memorial Parkway; to Yellowstone, Glacier, National Conservation Training Center and the NPS National Wilderness Training Center, on the campus of the University of Montana, and more.
Together, our family has operated several small business enterprises over the years, including Gardner's Farm and Apartments, the Ozone Company of West Virginia, Honor Code Publishing and Paradise View Properties. In addition, we also created and ran an Educational Non-Profit Organizaton: Honor Code! United States Service Academy and Leadership Camps - where for ten years we taught academy pre-candidates how to plan, prepare and gain appointment to our five U.S. Service Academies. Hundreds of Cadets and Mid-Shipman have been influenced by these training courses.
After my retirement from the National Park Service, I performed as a Bonner County, Idaho Deputy Sheriff, fufilling 36 years in law enforcement, however, I now works the ranch full-time. I am a local member of the Backcounty Horseman’s Association and am active in many other ventures. My wife Mary transitioned from working as a ranger for the National Park Service to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) many years back, and has worked locally at the National Bison Range and Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge(s). She currently performs as a Regional Program Manager for the USFWS, working remotely from the ranch.
We've raised three children in the National Parks and have five grandchildren. Multiple generations of the family are passionate and committed to protecting and preserving this amazing landscape.
