Maple Creek Canyon is 135 acres of secluded woodlands, prairie, creek bottoms, and rugged canyon terrain in eastern Nebraska’s Elkhorn Unit. Located about an hour from Omaha, Lincoln, and Norfolk, the property offers a private outdoor experience that is hard to find in this part of the state.
Surrounded by cropland and protected by steep canyon walls, Maple Creek Canyon provides natural habitat for whitetail deer, wild turkey, and other wildlife. Established trails wind through the property, giving guests access to grasslands, wooded areas, canyon rims, and creek bottoms for hunting, hiking, wildlife photography, birdwatching, and outdoor recreation.
Camping is available on-site, including campsites with a fire pit and a 40-foot concrete RV pad with a fire pit. Additional guests, additional nights, and overnight lodging options may be available upon request.
More than 20 years ago, Paul purchased Maple Creek Canyon with a vision of preserving and sharing a landscape that is rare in eastern Nebraska. Over the years, he built trails throughout the property and worked to maintain the natural beauty, wildlife habitat, and secluded character that make the canyon special.
Today, Valerie continues that stewardship by welcoming guests who appreciate the outdoors and will care for the land with the same respect that helped preserve it for future generations.
Schuyler is located just 13 miles away and offers additional lodging, dining, and services for visitors.

Maple Creek Canyon is my retirement project, which features year-round enjoyment of trails, tours, safaris, hiking, campfire Bible studies, retreats, and an event center, in addition to hunting.
Valerie and I reside on our beautiful 135 acre private wilderness known far & wide as Maple Creek Canyon, only an hour from Omaha, Lincoln and Norfolk.
I am usually on location around the clock to answer your questions, and host your Maple Creek Canyon experience.
Valerie and I both enjoy photography and film-making and welcome hunters and all types of nature enthusiasts.
