Markuson Ranch
We are located 13 miles northwest of Ekalaka, MT. We are a fifth generation family cattle ranch. Our landscape would be classified as the epitomy of prairies: rolling hills and grasslands made up of both tame and native grasses. We have antelope, whitetail deer, mule deer, birds, coyotes, and prairie dogs. We are very isolated, so there is plenty of opportunity to escape civilization and enjoy the serenity of nature.

5.02023 is a tough season for deer numbers in all of the 700 region of Montana. This property wasn't immune to that. Very little sign or deer activity. The host was very nice and met us before the hunt to suggest areas to try and was honest about what they were...or were not seeing. In a year with better population numbers, this could be a great place to hunt. There is lots of natural habitat and the place is huge. Just not much going on in 2023.
