Just seconds from the Mississippi River in Iowa’s far northeastern corner, Driftless Area Inn in Allamakee County offers a rare combination of rugged hunting ground and luxury lodging. Situated outside Lansing, this 360-acre second-generation family farm, features a mix of timbered ridges, upland CRP fields, lowland creek bottoms, and row crops that consistently hold deer and turkey. With 31 acres in crop rotation, 30 acres of CRP, and year-round water sources from a creek and spring-fed stream, the property naturally supports a thriving wildlife population.

Located in Iowa’s Unit 9 for deer and Unit 6 for turkey, this unique property is a solid destination for sportsmen looking to hunt unpressured, well-managed ground. Whether you're hunting solo or bringing a group, I am available to help customize your experience, from selecting lodging to offering insight on how to make the most of your hunt & stay.

Hunters booking a 2- or 3-day package will enjoy incredible on-site lodging in our inn. The main house sleeps up to 25 guests across 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, with 9 queen beds, 7 twins, and 5 sofa sleepers. Common spaces include a large living room, a big kitchen, and a screened-in porch, along with two game rooms: one in the basement with a pool table and big-screen TV, and another in the converted garage with ping pong, foosball, and yard games. Outside, guests can enjoy a volleyball court, fire pit, and both a 9-hole casual and 18-hole championship-style disc golf course. Six miles of hiking trails wind through the hills and fields for off-hours exploration.

For smaller groups or added privacy, two Amish-built cabins are available just steps from the action. Each cabin includes two queen beds, electricity, running water, heating, and air conditioning. At just $50 per night per cabin, they’re a great addition for overflow or flexible sleeping arrangements. 

With easy parking for multiple vehicles, boats, and trailers as well as electric available for boat battery charging, the property is well-suited to handle a wide range of guest setups.
