Visited back in January... this is a really cool property if you're just looking to get away for the weekend. There are plenty of prairie dogs or coyotes to go get after if you're into varmint hunting. They mentioned they do get some antelope on property every once and a while as well. Have a nice guest house and pool to hang by if it is a hot sunny day.

Landowner Rules: Hunting: If you go through a gate that is closed, please be sure to close the gate behind you. Be aware of any cattle in the vicinity where you are hunting, and avoid any active shooting where cattle are present. Do not shoot over a hill where you do not have line of site regarding what lies beyond. Use caution when traveling on the open range - the terrain is rough and there are many holes, ditches, canyons, etc. that often can not be seen until you are right on top of them, please regulate your speed for safety. Leave the livestock alone. No smoking or open fires of any type allowed other than at the homestead. Campground/Lodging: 1. No open flame campfires allowed at campsites. Guests are welcome to use the two fire pits available for community use. One is located inside the pool courtyard and the other is located under the pergola in the backyard retreat area. 2. Our land is located on the open prairie so we do encounter rattle snakes on occasion and we strongly encourage guests to constantly watch for the presence of any snakes in our around your campground area. If a snake is seen or suspected in your area, leave the snake alone and please notify one of the Plainsview Ranch staff immediately. This is a risk inherent to the area where we are located. We are not responsible for personal injury to you or any person in your party (including pets). 3. Dogs, cats and other pets are allowed, but they must be kept on a leash that is no longer than 6 feet; except for certified service animals. We are not responsible for any injury to your pet while on our property/premises. 4. Swimming is allowed by guests, however there is no life guard on duty and you swim at your own risk. All children age 14 and under must be accompanied by their parent/guardian when using the pool. Pool towels are not available, so you must provide your own towel. Pool will be closed at 10pm. 5. No running allowed on the sidewalks surrounding the pool. 6. No glass allowed in or around the pool. 7. Please be respectful of your fellow campers by only engaging in reasonable activities after 10pm. 8. Keep your camping area clean. We request that you take your trash with you when you leave, or place in the dumpster provided on property. 9. Camping equipment and personal items must be completely removed and the campsites cleaned upon departure. 10. Please do not leave personal items unattended. We cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen property. 11. 4-wheelers or ATV’s are not allowed to be used with in the campground area. They can be parked on the grounds if being used for activities on the property. 12. Speed limit is 5mph in and around the homestead area – please use caution when driving, and watch carefully for children and other guests. Please do not drive on the gravel walking path around the homestead property.

Lonnie and Joyce are both native to Western Nebraska. Lonnie was born in Alliance, NE and raised in the Hyanis area. Joyce was born in Scottsbluff, NE and was raised right here on the Plainsview Ranch. Lonnie and Joyce both graduated from Chadron State College in 1989, Lonnie with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with composite majors in Accounting and Management, Joyce with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and Human Development. Lonnie and Joyce have been managing and operating their 2500+ acre cattle ranch in rural Sioux County Nebraska since 1997.
