We have a TON of prairie grouse, especially in our hayfields. I kick em up all the time when I'm running the baler. There's been a few occasions where I've seen what seems like well over 500 birds.
Pheasant are less common, but you may still bump a few.
The farm's tree rows and natural cover in our grasslands and crops all contribute to a fun hunt for Nebraska game birds. Bird dogs are permitted as long as they don't bother cattle.
Hunters are welcome to bring a tent or camper, with one of our cattle yards available as a setup spot. Just keep in mind there are no hookups. We are also located only about 30 miles from Valentine.
