Seacross Ranch East
This place is perfect for recreation! We are in scenic terrain at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains and Lodge Grass Creek runs year-round through the property. There are 1,280 contiguous acres of solitude and wide-open spaces, but we are easy access on a paved road just 15 miles from I-90 near the Lodge Grass, Montana exit. Parking is available away from the public road, as vehicle safety is a priority for us.
Upland bird hunting – including Sharp-tailed Grouse and plenty of Ring-necked Pheasant - is available, but strictly limited to keep success rates positive. And there is a prairie dog town that we greatly prefer to keep under control with hunting, if you are interested.
For non-hunting enthusiasts, we have plenty of hiking and camping, including a nicely maintained primitive RV or tent camping site with portable toilet. We have family-type fishing along Lodge Grass Creek, great birdwatching, and plenty of wildlife to see. Dogs just love to come out and roam free, with no other dogs to create concerns. Any time of year this is great exercise for your furry companions!
Miles of trail riding (BYO Horses) abound both within and adjacent to the base ranch, with corral facilities and horse watering readily available. We even have a guest house available case-by-case for special events like family reunions or maybe even a wedding . . . . .!
The ranch is totally and solely for your enjoyment on the days you have booked, but someone is always available in case of need. All-in-all, the ideal getaway for a day or a summer!
Seacross Ranch is also home to Montana’s healthiest and happiest red angus cows. We sell calves and yearlings and breed heifers, and our cattle spend their days grazing on native grasses under bright blue skies. The entire ranch is a complex patchwork of both deeded and leased land within the Crow Reservation and rests in the upper valley of Lodge Grass Creek, flanked by the Big Horn Mountains.
We believe the entire ecosystem benefits from our sustainable and regenerative ranching practices. Certified as a conservation ranch by Montana Audubon, Seacross Ranch adheres to a detailed habitat management plan that has led to an increase in bird and plant diversity as well as protection of critical wildlife habitat. We also partner with World Wildlife Fund to manage for carbon sequestration and improved wildlife habitat.
We want you to love our place as much as we do and we look forward to hosting you!

The creek bottom and ag fields provide the ample cover and forage birdss love. During my visit, I saw a pile of roosters on the place while I was there!

Mickey is an excellent host. She checked in on us regularly and was very attentive to our needs. The weather was hot, and it dog its toll on our dogs. Lots of cover on the ranch. Bird population was very good.
Reviewed by Guest on October 2024We absolutely loved Dave Koehler and his group. They were respectful, tidy, and pleasant. It would be great to see them again. I know they suffered a bit from the terrain, the brush, and the burdock, but if they do come again, they will know what to expect. We are saving opening day for them!
