Our dense timber and scattered meadows provide good cover to hunt big game including black bear on this property. There are frequent sightings of bears and deer throughout the year that have yet to be harvested.   

This property boasts towering oak, pine, and cedar forests and a mile-long seasonal creek that meanders down the property along carved granite rock formations and ancient living grounds. Miles of hiking and ATV trails give access to opportunities for both small and big game hunting on the property. 

Somerset Rancheria is easily accessible by a main road and is home to a diverse wildlife population that includes black bears. Dogs are allowed on the property for family, hunting, training, or sport. The number of lease slots for bears is limited each year to ensure privacy on the land and hunter success.

Somerset, CA is located within minutes of award-winning wineries and farm-to-fork eateries so you can enjoy the best of both worlds on and off-site. There are popular local (5-minute drive) swimming holes along the Middlefork Cosumnes River and a scenic pond for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing within 10 minutes of the property. Your private campground in the forest will include running water (hot and cold), an outdoor shower and sink area, a processing area, an outdoor cooking area, a BBQ pit, a fire pit, fire logs, picnic tables, and an outhouse. We offer optional tent and RV/Trailer space access for overnight and multiple-day recreational and hunting trips. There is no gray or black water dumping on the property
