SpringLake Angus Northwest
With water, food, canyons and fields, it’s the perfect habitat for animals to thrive! Specifically, the deer and turkey in the area are bigger and more plentiful than further south. In the winter, deer will stick together in bunches of 75-100, while the turkey roam about in hefty flocks.
Our lakes are stocked with Northern Bass, Crappie and Bluegill. Meanwhile, the creeks are swarming with Brown Trout. We monitor and control the fish population to ensure it remains at a healthy level over the years.
We are happy to offer our bunk room above the barn, which contains six beds, a bathroom and shower. In addition, we have a full kitchen and liquor license and would be delighted to host you for supper if you’re interested. Otherwise, you are welcome to pitch a tent or stay 20 miles down the road in O’Neill or Lynch, Nebraska. We have buildings you can store and hang up your game in. We are willing to assist in retrieving any game that is difficult to access, such as in a canyon, however, we ask that you respect our time constraints with our daily work.
We have no minimum or maximum number of booking days. Although, we set a high bar for our sportsmen to leave no trace. We pride ourselves very much in our environmental footprint and ask you to respect the land that you are on. We want you to have a great experience out in the wilderness and enjoy the time you have out there!

Saw a big bunch of turkeys on the property when changing game cam batteries last. Saw some deer scrapes and rubs in a group of trees near where cam was set up.

Gene and Kelcey were great hosts, Gene took time out of his day to give us a tour of his property and had some great stories to go with it. The property itself is great and full of wildlife. Highly recommend.
Reviewed by Guest on April 2024 First time hunting out west and won’t be my last. Gene and his wife were wonderful people that care about their guests. Turkeys may not have been on the same page for the time I was there, but the weather really hurt as well. I did see a lot of different things and had a really good time though. Accommodations were top tier!
Reviewed by Guest on April 2024Gene and Kelcey are great hosts. If you stay on the property in their barn loft you will be treated to some excellent evening meals and Gene has a lot of interesting stories to go with dinner. The property has several different pieces spread over several miles that gives a chance at several groups of birds. Our hunt ended with a Merriam's double. There’s also a few other perks to the ranch, but you’ll need to find those out from Gene and Kelcey after you book.

We had a wonderful time, with nothing but the best hospitality and conversations! The turkeys were thin, but we both got one. 5 🌟
