Nearest Town, Lynch, Nebraska
472 acres
Lodging Available
This northwest property features over 470 acres of working cattle ranch land that sits right on top of the aquifer. Located just south of the South Dakota border in O’Neill, NE, the land is made of heavy soil with no irrigation, but features two ponds. With these fresh water sources and the multiple lakes nearby, this land is great for wildlife. Near each water source, there are oak trees and borders, with shrubs, alfalfa fields and corn fields surrounding them.

With water, food, canyons and fields, it’s the perfect habitat for animals to thrive! Specifically, the deer and turkey in the area are bigger and more plentiful than further south. In the winter, deer will stick together in bunches of 75-100, while the turkey roam about in hefty flocks.

Our lakes are stocked with Northern Bass, Crappie and Bluegill. Meanwhile, the creeks are swarming with Brown Trout. We monitor and control the fish population to ensure it remains at a healthy level over the years.

We are happy to offer our bunk room above the barn, which contains six beds, a bathroom and shower. In addition, we have a full kitchen and liquor license and would be delighted to host you for supper if you’re interested. Otherwise, you are welcome to pitch a tent or stay 20 miles down the road in O’Neill or Lynch, Nebraska. We have buildings you can store and hang up your game in. We are willing to assist in retrieving any game that is difficult to access, such as in a canyon, however, we ask that you respect our time constraints with our daily work.

We have no minimum or maximum number of booking days. Although, we set a high bar for our sportsmen to leave no trace. We pride ourselves very much in our environmental footprint and ask you to respect the land that you are on. We want you to have a great experience out in the wilderness and enjoy the time you have out there!

Property Visited

Saw a big bunch of turkeys on the property when changing game cam batteries last. Saw some deer scrapes and rubs in a group of trees near where cam was set up.

Gene and Kelcey are great hosts. If you stay on the property in their barn loft you will be treated to some excellent evening meals and Gene has a lot of interesting stories to go with dinner. The property has several different pieces spread over several miles that gives a chance at several groups of birds. Our hunt ended with a Merriam's double. There’s also a few other perks to the ranch, but you’ll need to find those out from Gene and Kelcey after you book.

We had a wonderful time, with nothing but the best hospitality and conversations! The turkeys were thin, but we both got one. 5 🌟

Jim and Anthony were wonderful guests. Very respectful and easy going considering we had no electricity for the first half of their stay. Would have them back for sure!
