Hillsdale Lake offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities on more than 8000 acres of land and 4580 acres of water. Feeling adventurous? Fishing, Boating, Hunting, Shooting Sports, Camping, are the many fun things that are waiting for you!

Stop at the Hillsdale lake shooting range and get some pre-season practice. 50, 100 and 200 yard ranges are ready for rifle and pistol shooting. Trap and skeet is available for shotgun shooters. Want to slow down and enjoy the quiet serenity Wade Ranch offers? How about some bird watching and stargazing under the beautiful Kansas skies. It's all about making those special and unforgetable memories...that's what Wade Ranch is about.

Take advantage of the beautiful Hillsdale Lake. We have ample room for boat and trailer parking.

Over 70% percent of the standing timber was left in the lake to provide fisheries and wildlife benefits. Game fish include Crappie,Largemouth Bass, Walleye, WhiteBass, Bluegill and Catfish.

Birdwatching

Birdwatchers will enjoy the many species of birds at the lake. The changing seasons bring the promise of migrating waterfowl and shorebirds that use Hillsdale Lake as a rest stop. On the north end of the lake is a Waterfowl Refuge. This area provides migratory birds with a feeding and resting area during their migration south and again in the spring when they head to northern breeding grounds.

We are just a stones throw from Hillsdale Lake Marina and Swim beach.

Horseback Riding

We are close to the Blue and Red equestrian trails of Hillsdale Lake and Wildlife Area. There are over acres of trails. We have ample room to park horse trailers. Try out S&S Stables just across the dam for an unforgettable guided ride around the lake.

House Description

Wade Ranch has been in our family for over 65 years and we are so excited to begin this journey with our hunting guests! You will be renting the entire home as a short term rental, this is not a B&B or shared lodge. The ranch house sits on 100 acres and is secluded and quiet, I was so blessed to grow up in this home. The house was built in 1869 near the banks of Wade Creek. My grandparents bought the house in 1959 and began ranching, farming and raising their two sons. Years later, the U.S. Corp of Engineers purchased the 10,000+ acres that would one day become Hillsdale Lake and Wildlife area. That purchase included the very spot where the house sat, prompting my plucky grandmother to move the 100 year old landmark "down the road a piece" to another part of the ranch. Today, the Wade Branch Boat Ramp sits where the house was, less than a half mile away and adjacent to Wade Ranch. Visit waderanch.net for more of the story! The Hillsdale State Park Marina and main boat ramp is just a 5 minute drive. Guest will have plenty of room to park vehicles, campers, boats, trailers, etc....
