Habig Livestock
Welcome to Carbon County, Montana!
Habig Livestock is a solid destination for bird and deer hunters looking for a spot within 45 minutes of Billings. Located about 5 miles north of Joliet, this parcel serves as our home and headquarters for our prescribed grazing operation that conducts weed abatement on ranches in the region. The property itself is new to our family and to our knowledge, there has not been any hunting for several years on this parcel.
A natural byproduct of our focus on regenerative ranching practices and prescribed grazing is excellent habitat for mule deer and a variety of upland birds. The property features a mixture of dryland crops and hayfields, along with sage brush coulees and wild grasses. The ranch's main source of timber can be found in the northern quarter draws. For water, we have a developed spring and a couple seasonal drainages. In addition the ranch's acreage, we also border an 80-acre chunk of tough-to-get-to BLM ground.
Notes on Hunting:
- The ranch is located in Unit 575 for mule deer hunters.
- Well-trained hunting dogs are permitted for bird hunters looking to come out. We do have sheep dogs on site as a general notice for you and your dogs to be aware of.
