The Humboldt Retreat is a 224-acre grain farm and hunting retreat in southeast Nebraska that has been in our family since 1893. With working cropland, wooded hillsides, and an old oxbow lake, we are proud to call the farm home. 

In addition to our ag ground, we have about 60 acres of hillside timber and wooded draws that provide good cover for the deer and turkey. The old oxbow lake adds a natural focal point on the property, and the South Fork of the Big Nemaha River runs within a half mile of the farm, pulling wildlife through the area consistently. A small creek also winds through the fields. That combination of timber, water, and grain sets up well for whitetail and turkey hunters.

We are located in the Blue Southeast Unit for whitetail. The farm is also home to turkey, dove, and coyote as well. 

Beyond hunting, the property is open for wildlife viewing, photography, and hiking the hillside and timber ground. Tent camping and pull-behind camper or RV access are available, though there are no hookups at this time. No fires please. A ranch house on the property is undergoing renovation and will be available for lodging in a future season.

We are just two miles outside of Humboldt, Nebraska, with Lincoln roughly 1.5 hours (95 miles) to the northwest.
