Lovely Ranch Recreation
The Lovely Ranch is a five-generation family operation situated between Wilsall and Park County's Crazy Mountains. Our family has a rich history of ranching: raising cattle, dairy cows, and chickens; farming: growing wheat: and enjoying the land: hunting, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling.
Our Big Game and Bear hunting packages are a flat rate of $1,000 per day for up to 5 guests. That $1,000 per day is the rate we request you pay regardless of your party size up to 5 hunters/non-hunting guests. If you're a single hunter, that's $1,000 per day. If you're 2 hunters, that's $500 per person per day, and so on up to 5 guests. $200 for each additional guest up to 8.
The Cabin
Not only is our cabin FREE with every booking 3 or more days, but it is also the perfect place to bring your hunting party or family! We have some neat amenities, like our wood-fire stovetop and spring house cooler, which are big favorites for the guests we've hosted so far! The cooler is spring-fed from freezing cold mountain water. The cabin is included with all hunting bookings that are 3 or more days. We can accommodate single day bookings; however, lodging will not be available. It's also available during the summer with our outdoor rec package! Take a look at our pictures and let us know if you have any questions about the accommodations.
Our History
My great-grandfather, Charles "Moab" Lovely, came to Montana from Kansas in the late 1800s and homesteaded here in the Shields Valley, building the ranch and passing it down from generation to generation in our family.
The ranch is 134 years old, as evidenced by the original ranch deed, signed by Theodore Roosevelt, which is still in our possession.
The Property
Our beautiful 790 acres are located nine miles east of Wilsall, right at the base of the Crazies, in the shadow of Iddings Peak (10,938 ft) and Crazy Peak (11,178 ft). On the ranch Basin Creek joins the South Fork Horse Creek as it winds into the valley to eventually feed into the Shields River.
Access to the Gallatin National Forest and amazing hunting opportunities are available nearby.
Ranching is in our blood, and from our family to yours, we are excited to share our way of life with you!

This spot is located on the southwest corner of the Crazy Mountains with top notch accomodations. Wildlife transits through the property often. I'd recommend the Lovely Ranch for bowhunters seeking Montana archery opportunities!

As a caretaker to land homesteaded by my great grandfather, I take preservation of the land very serious. We use all resources on the land including grazing, production, timber, recreation and wildlife. This property is stunning and productive. You have the opportunity to share its beauty and resources.
