Idaho Unit 39 has antlered controlled hunts 1030 and 1168 from August 15 through September 30, 2026. The general muzzleloader hunt runs from September 8 through September 30, the any-weapon hunt runs from October 10 through October 31, and the archery hunt runs from November 10 through November 30. The controlled hunts require their matching Deer Controlled Hunt Tags, the muzzleloader hunt also requires a Muzzleloader Permit, and portions of the unit are closed during the muzzleloader and archery seasons.
The required tag for whitetail in Idaho Unit 39 depends on the hunt. Controlled hunts 1030 and 1168 require matching Deer Controlled Hunt Tags, while general hunts use a Regular Deer Tag or White-tailed Deer Tag; residents also have a Deer Tag path. Both residents and nonresidents have controlled-hunt, Regular Deer Tag, and White-tailed Deer Tag paths, and some White-tailed Deer Tag hunts require an Archery Permit.
