Hunters can enjoy exclusive access to our 7,000+ acres of NE Wyoming ranchland for a classic spring turkey hunt. 7 out of 11 of our 2025 spring turkey hunters were successful. (64%)
Hunters will most likely encounter Merriam's in this part of Wyoming.
Big country. Varied habitat. Rolling grassland, sagebrush steppe, creekbottom, livestock tanks + ranch reservoirs, rough timber breaks, and steep ridges. The ranch just about has it all.
Hunters can set up on the creekbottom and call 'em in or chase the Toms on the breaks and ridges!
NOTE ON TURKEY NUMBERS/SUCCESS: We live about 20 minutes from where the best bird habitat is, so I'm not able to tell exactly how numbers are doing. That said, about 2 out 3 times we go up to where the turkeys are, we see several birds.
About Laurel Leaf Land Co:
We are a regenerative-minded, family cow/calf operation based out of Rozet, Wyoming.
Located less than 20 minutes from interstate access to I-90, about 30 minutes from Gilette, and within an hour and a half of Belle Fourche, SD; Spearfish, SD; and Broadus, MT.
Lodging Options:
Our family's rustic 1950s-era cabin is available. Recently updated but intentionally off-grid, the cabin has four rooms, a woodstove kitchen, queen beds, a modern outhouse, and an outdoor firepit equipped for campfire cooking.
Overland truck and tent camping is available as well. No hookups.

Laurel Leaf Land Co. East | Elk & Turkey

Wyoming Spring Merriam's Turkey Hunt | 30 Minutes from Gillette

This package is for Fall and Spring turkey hunting.
Our 845 acres of thick timber and open rolling pasture make the land a welcoming habitat for turkeys. Multiple ponds and springs also provide convenient water sources for wildlife.
While only 10 miles from Sundance and interstate access to I-90, the ranch is VERY remote and can be tough to get to. It's imperative that you have 4-wheel drive to access the ranch, or at the very least All-Wheel Drive.
Drive-in access to the ranch will be heavily dependent on whether we have snow or rain. The ranch road will be pretty much impassable and treacherous if wet/muddy.
The road is about 3 miles from US-Highway 14 to the ranch boundary. If the road is impassable due to weather, guests are welcome to hike in and stay overnight on the ranch in a tent or under one of the barn structures. We are open to working with you to reschedule your trip if necessary.

Grubb Ranch

Unit 1 Merriam Turkey Hunt - Welcoming Habitat on 845 Acres

Hunt Merriams here in northeastern Wyoming.
We have over 1,350 acres of private land in Weston County. In addition to our private ground, we are bordered by a large chunk of BLM lands. We have two parcels that border the South Dakota state line as well, providing direct access to the Black Hills National Forest. The ranch hunts large, so hunters should be prepared to put some miles on their boots. Terrain is pretty rugged, and it can take some work to get around the ranch.
Habitat is classic terrain synonymous with the Black Hills, including timbered ridges, rugged draws, and natural springs. We have an abundant Merriam's turkey population, with good numbers of mature Toms year after year.
