Fourth rifle is a late-season opportunity for hunters who want cold weather and less competition. Deer and elk have shifted their patterns by this point, concentrating around water sources and lower-elevation feed. The Yarmony Creek corridor and the ranch's two ponds become focal points for animal movement, and the surrounding public ground still holds game for hunters willing to put in the miles.

Copper Spur Ranch

4th Rifle Deer/Elk Hunt + Lodging | GMU 15: 11/18-11/22

Available Dates: October 14–18
The first rifle season is one of the better windows on Copper Spur Ranch for elk. Elk are transitioning out of their early-season patterns and beginning to push through the high country in earnest. With exclusive access from the western entry point into the Radium State Wildlife Area and adjacent BLM land, hunters have a significant stretch of country to work across both sides of the fence.

1st Rifle Elk Hunt + Lodging | GMU 15: 10/14-10/18

Available Dates: 2nd Rifle Season — Second Half Only (Wednesday, October 25th–Sunday, November 1st)
2nd Rifle is an OTC tag for elk and a draw for mule deer in Unit 15.
We reserve the first half of second rifle for a family hunt, but the back half of the season is open and it's a good one. By mid-second rifle, deer and elk have had pressure pushed into them from surrounding public land and tend to settle into the draws and timbered terrain on and around the ranch. Availability is limited to Wednesday through Sunday during this window, so plan accordingly.

2nd Rifle Deer/Elk Hunt + Lodging | GMU 15: 2nd Half- 10/25-11/1

Available Dates: September 12-20 (muzz season)
Archery season opens in September, and elk movement on the property can be limited early in the season. This is a good option for hunters who want the full high-country archery experience: glassing ridgelines, working timbered draws, and covering ground into the adjacent public land.&nbsp;
Muzzleloader season on Copper Spur Ranch offers a quieter window with less hunting pressure than the rifle seasons.&nbsp;
The intimate range requirements of a muzzleloader suit this terrain well, with timbered pockets and creek bottoms offering natural pinch points on both the private ground and the adjacent wildlife area.
