The OJO Ranch is 10,000 acres of expansive, completely unobstructed Native Grassland and Rocky Gullies. The property has a huge presence of rich geology and also includes 1,000 acres of CRP.&nbsp;
Before our family bought the ranch, Roy Rogers is believed to have trained his famous Palominos in this area. The ranch also features a rock formation with carvings in the rock from 1886 of people passing through as they settled the West.
The ranch has been in our family for three generations, and we are very excited to share our piece of Western Kansas with you!&nbsp;

Muley/Whitetail Hunt - Unit 17 | 10,000 Contiguous Acres

Linden Farm has potential for big bucks, mostly Whitetail with some mule deer. 			
Linden Farm is located in Lane County a few miles northwest of Dighton. The farm's acreage is made up of two tracts of ground. The first tract is about 155 acres of pasture/grassland and a stretch of the Walnut Creek, which is heavily timbered. The Walnut Creek actually splits into its north and middle forks on this tract. The second tract is about 236 acres of mostly pasture ground with livestock tanks and dry creek bottoms.
Our habitat should bode extremely well for hunters this year.&nbsp;

Deer Hunt in KS Unit 17 | 2 Productive Tracts w/ Buck Potential

Rifle recommended. Archery will be a challenge.
Hunt deer on our dryland grain operation here in southwest Kansas.&nbsp;
Cover is limited; however, both whitetails and mule deer can often be found moving in and out of our pivots to feed.&nbsp;
Our acreage is about 30 minutes from Garden City where hunters can find hotels and other nearby airbnbs for lodging. We are also about 20 minutes from Ulysses. No overnight stays available at this time.
We're a lifetime West Kansas family that has stewarded this stretch of high plains ground for generations, and we're excited to open 2,045 acres to hunters who want access to our private piece of the Sunflower State. We are a dryland grain operation, with wide-open cropland pivots, and brushy corners, with some native grassland pasture. We have our main parcel grouping (7 pivots) that straddles the Grant-Haskell county line, with another few hundred acres + ag pivots just 1-2 miles east.
We look forward to sharing this fertile but dry high plains land with you!
Note: We are a working farm. Some areas may be off-limits during your visit, depending on where we have our cow herd or grain storage bags. Center pivot sprinklers with drop nozzles will be off-limits as well. We’ll work with you during your trip and communicate accordingly, but please stay clear of these areas and observe all electric wire livestock fences.
Be very fire conscious when driving on two tracks or parking in grassy areas (avoid tall grass).

Unit 17 encompasses Hamilton, Kearny, and Finney counties, as well as parts of 14 other counties. Located on the high plains, this unit borders Colorado and is mostly made up of wide-open grasslands, dry farms, and irrigated crop fields. The area supports lower numbers of mule deer, who make their home primarily on private lands.
