Hunt both whitetail and mule deer @ Ackerman Farms!
The north parcels are in Deer Management Unit 1, and the south parcels are in Deer Management Unit 2. 
Standing on the high plains of Western Kansas, Ackerman Farms features multiple parcels which straddle both sides of I-70. The farm also represents two game management units.&nbsp;
The farm's 1,100 acres consist of mostly draws through farm fields and fence lines with shelterbelts scattered throughout.
Lodging is not yet offered on the property; however, the property is just south of Brewster, which is conveniently located right in the middle of Goodland and Colby. Lodging, grocery stores, and local restaurants can all be found in both towns.

Rifle Whitetail/Mule Deer Hunt- Acreage in Units 1 & 2

Rifle hunters are invited to the Schneider Ranch for mule deer or antelope hunting. You never know what kind of buck you may catch cruising through our property.
NOTE: We have very limited cover on the property for big game, so this is a more of a pass-through property. Sportsmen will most likely encounter big game as they come through the property to graze in our fields or drink from any water sources.
We do routinely see antelope on the property.		
Sportsmen must stay out of standing row crops. 		
Our ranch is located just a few miles Southeast of Brewster, Kansas, and Interstate 70.
This is an up-and-coming property on 624 acres here in Thomas County.
We currently have a lot of pasture ground and some low areas that hold water. We also have a wheat field. Looking to the Fall, our weed growth in the low areas of the ranch should be protected and provide full cover for wildlife. Plus, after the milo harvest, we'll have about 100 acres of stubble that will be a food source for wildlife.	
We want to acknowledge the fact that rattlesnakes do frequent our area, so we ask that all guests understand this risk and use caution during your experience.

This is a self-guided mule deer hunt.
Our wide-open acreage here in Western Kansas is perfect for mule deer hunters.
With rolling hills, ample food sources in our ag fields, and draws, this is a great habitat for deer.
Our ranch is home to over 3,985 acres of Kansas farmland and prairie. The habitat consists of agricultural cropland, grassland, and brushy edges. We also have numerous draws with bottoms that are sure to hold mule deer.
We are located in Logan County here in Western Kansas. One of our many access points to the ranch's parcels are all within 30-45 minutes of I-70, making for convenient access for sportsmen making the drive out from Colorado or Eastern Kansas.

DIY Mule Deer Hunt - Unit 2 | Buck Potential on KS Ranchland

Hackberry Creek Farm is set up to be a great spot and stalk property for mule deer and whitetails this year. You can see a long way, and there are many gullies, washes, and creek bottoms that make for good stalking lanes.
At this time, we will be offering a limited number of hunts to preserve our population. Does are not permitted to be taken.
Hackberry Creek Farm is mostly short grass pasture and cropland in Logan County, Kansas. Our cover crops can be quite pretty when flowering certain times of year. Our property is pretty secluded, and we have a small prairie dog town and fishing hole. We have plenty of coyotes and a small group of deer and antelope on the property.&nbsp;
We don't have structured lodging available at this time; however, we recommend you check out our neighbor's Airbnb for lodging during your visit: Prairie Pines Lodge. The Airbnb is located just 4 miles from our farm.

Unit 2 Muley/Whitetail Buck Spot & Stalk Hunt in Logan County

Lodging included. Semi-guided, I work full time but know the land well and can give you the best advice on how to hunt the property. You will be required to show proof of licensing.
We are located 30 minutes from the Colorado-Kansas border, part of Unit 2 for antelope and deer.
Set in a well-managed mix of grassland, cropland, and sheltering cover, this property offers the kind of setup that keeps game using it throughout the season. Roughly 40% of the acreage is ranch grass with five ponds that hold water within a river system flowing through the property, creating dependable travel corridors and loafing areas for both big game and birds. Another 50% is in agriculture and currently planted to fall millet, giving wildlife a strong food source and helping keep animals moving between the fields, creek bottom, and surrounding cover.
The remaining 10% is centered around the farmstead, where fruit-bearing trees, evergreen windbreaks, and additional game plantings create bedding, feeding, and escape cover in one concentrated area. That combination makes this property feel alive from first light to last shooting light, whether you are glassing edges for deer, watching water and feed for dove, or catching pheasants slipping from ag ground into the creek bed and grass. The amount of water this season has made it an especially strong bird destination, with healthy, well-fed dove and a pheasant population that continues to hold and reproduce here year after year.
For hunters who value both function and comfort, the property also includes a custom cow blind that adds another ready-to-hunt feature to an already productive layout. Between the water, feed, cover, and established habitat improvements, this is a property built to hold game and give hunters multiple ways to enjoy it across the season.

This ground has not been hunted in the last 10 years! 
This region of Western KS sees the mule deer frequent our draws and coulees that cut through the native range, while the whiteails concentrate near the water.&nbsp;
We have a top-notch watering system throughout the acreage, with 4 large freshwater stock tanks. In addition to the water, we have salt and protein blocks on the ranch for the deer and antelope. Cropland surrounds the native pasture for feed diversity. The terrain is open grassland and pasture cut by draws and canyons that funnel game movement and provide natural cover on an otherwise wide-open landscape.&nbsp;
If interested, pheasant hunting can also be made available if you harvest early!
We are a working cattle ranch here in Wallace County. Our acreage features 1,180 acres of contiguous native range on the high plains of western Kansas.
All hunting is walk-in only, apart from ATV/UTV access in certain parts of the ranch for game retrieval only. Coyotes can be hunted as a standalone package, but are also included with your big game hunt. If you see a coyote, you are encouraged to shoot it. 
All gates and fence will be left as found. This is a working ranch with cows present during hunting season. NO FIRES. We encourage hunters scout the wildlife before the season opens. We provide no scouting services.

This property is for the hunter looking for the ultimate experience with luxury accommodations and unparalleled land access. There is also plenty of rougher topography for stalking nice deer, and one of the best natural water sources in the area with the live springs. The corn acres in rotation on the tillable, in close proximity to a reliable water source, provide the cover big deer are attracted to. While whitetail are present in the area, mule deer are what hunters come to the western 1/3 of Kansas seeking.
