For our turkey hunts, the State of Wisconsin splits our season into six 6-day increments.&nbsp;

Misty Creek is a family farming operation proudly headquartered in the timbered hills of Buffalo County, Wisconsin. Our family has been here for six generations. Located just under 20 minutes from Independence, our farm consists of 1300 acres of rolling terrain with dense tree cover on both sides of our cropland.
Buffalo County is famous for producing some of the best whitetails in the country. Our family is excited to share access with respectful sportsmen looking to harvest a mature whitetail buck.&nbsp;
In addition to whitetails, we will be offering Eastern turkey hunts in the spring, along with coyote hunts. For our turkey hunts, the State of Wisconsin splits our season into six 6-day increments.&nbsp;

Independence (20 minutes) has a few nice airbnb options and local campgrounds. Arcadia is also only 20 minutes away and has some airbnb option

Zone 1 Spring Turkey Hunt | 3-6 Day Blocks during Spring Periods

Turkey hunters will most likely encounter Easterns in this part of Wisconsin.
Sportsmen are permitted to camp/RV on property. Sportsmen can arrive as early as 4AM on the first day of your scheduled booking. We ask that sportsmen depart the property by at least 9PM on the final day of your scheduled booking. This will hopefully allow you full property use of all days.
We thoroughly believe in Fair Chase here on the farm and have high expectations for the hunters that we permit on the property. We expect that all hunters use best judgment and take ethical shots. If you wound a turkey, that will count as your harvest.

Our piece of Juneau County has been in our family for the past 45 years. This part of Wisconsin is near and dear to our heart. We own about 15 acres of well-groomed woods, where you'll find established trails and stands for deer, turkey, squirrel, and rabbit hunting with the occasional bear.
Our turkey populations have become quite the nuisance, so we're eager to begin hosting respectful hunters who are willing to help thin out our populations!
We do have lodging that we winterize from the first of December through the first of April, meaning no running water. However, we will still have the heat on for winter bookings.
We are located about 5 minutes from Interstate 90/94, which provides convenient access to and from Madison to the south/east (~90 miles) and Eau Claire (97 miles) and Minneapolis (189 miles) to the north/west.
Great restaurants nearby as well as shopping for those last-minute needs.
A point of interest nearby is Castle Rock Lake, which has an abundance of boating, fishing, and beaches for outdoor recreation opportunities available in addition to what we have here at Fredrick's Ridge.

Our bird population roosts in our timbered fingers and hardwood draws before moving into ridge top fields and bottom crop ground to feed. The mix of corn and hay fields, plus our clover and winter bulb plots, provides reliable food sources throughout the season, while grassy pastures and tree lines offer nesting cover and travel routes. Hunters can bring blinds and decoys to take advantage of these high-traffic points.
We'll see flocks in the 50s consistently!
We are located in Wisconsin's Zone 1 for turkey.
Access throughout the farm allows hunters to move from ridge top fields to shaded bottoms with flexibility based on wind and bird activity. Camping and RVs are welcome, with a gravel lot and several mowed areas available for setup.&nbsp;
Trout fishing is included with all hunts, so bring your rods during your visit!!
For those preferring additional amenities, Wilton is just a mile away with a gas station, bar and restaurant, small campground with hookups and showers, and an affordable hotel option.&nbsp;
