Situated on the eastern edge of the state, just west of Omaha, this unit is an excellent choice for harvesting quality whitetail bucks, provided you have access to suitable hunting grounds. With much of the region made up of agricultural fields, hunters will find plentiful deer populations and ideal habitats. Those who gain access to land specifically managed for deer health might even have the chance to encounter their dream buck. Over the years, this area has produced a remarkable number of record-book bucks, with Lancaster County leading in trophy production, closely followed by Cass, Colfax, Douglas, and Saunders counties.
