During the migration season, the ranch is a stopping point for geese, cranes, swans, and other migratory birds. A professional birder with the US Fish &amp; Wildlife once said he saw more birds here than any other property he has ever been on.
Camping is permitted on the property.
The price is $250 per sportsman per day.
Duck/Coot:
The property is located in High Plains Zone 2 for Duck and Coot.
The daily bag limit is 6 ducks (Tier I) and 3 ducks (Tier II).
Season: 10/7/23 - 12/19/23, 1/10/24 - 1/31/24
Teal:
The property is located in the High Plains Unit for Teal.
The daily bag limit during open season is 6 birds.
Season: 9/2/23 - 9/10/23
Dark Goose:
The property is located in the Dark Goose Early Zone (North Central Unit).
The daily bag limit is 5 geese.
Season: 10/7/23 - 1/19/24
White-fronted Goose:
The entire state is open for the taking of white-fronted geese.
The daily bag limit is two geese.
Season: 10/7/23 - 12/17/23, 1/25/24 - 2/9/24
Light Goose:
The property is located in the West Zone for Light Goose.
The daily bag limit is 50 geese. There is no limit during the Conservation Order.
Statewide Season: 10/7/23 - 1/3/24; 1/25/24 - 2/9/24
Conservation Order: East: 2/10/24 - 4/5/24

Waterfowl Hunt

The ranch offers some amazing waterfowl hunting with multiple lakes and marsh areas as well as 1.5 miles of the Snake River running along the northern border of the property.&nbsp;

This is a DIY duck hunt and there are quite a few different places on the ranch to hunt. This is not a duck lodge experience with blinds setup, decoy spreads out, etc.&nbsp;

This package can be up to 8 people and we have a minimum of $4,800 to book this package regardless of the number of sportsmen. So if you're a group of 2 or 3 sportsmen, you're welcome to book it but we'll have to charge the $4,800 minimum.

About the ranch:

With over 46,000 acres of rolling, natural grass in the heart of the Sandhills in Nebraska, the Abbott Cattle Company is happy to welcome you to an impeccable habitat for waterfowl hunting! Originally homesteaded in the late 1800’s, this sixth generation working cattle ranch has provided an abundance of wildlife for over a century. In addition to the grasslands, our ranch consists of shelter belts, ponds, marshes and wet-land areas. We have 30 miles of spring-fed, open-water tributaries of natural rivers, creeks and man-made ditches, including an 11 mile stretch along the Snake River.&nbsp;
The ranch is comprised of two locations; Largest being the main ranch location and the smaller ‘tailbone,' ranch located 20 miles away. A variety of waterfowl can frequently be found throughout the entire ranch.&nbsp;
With such a remote and ample amount of land, we strongly recommend booking at least 2-3 days. However, we have no minimum for days booked. Prices are per gun per day. The nearest town is one hour away and the drive includes 35 miles of highway plus 9 miles of minimum maintenance gravel road (cars will get muddy if wet). It would be hard to fully appreciate the vast opportunities the land can provide in just one day!
Our lodging entails an old, ranch-style bunk house that has been well maintained. The bunk house has beds for nine people, plus a couch for a tenth. It includes plenty of chairs, a TV, fridge, microwave and full bathroom. In addition, the ranch barn hayloft is just 40 yards away and offers a great entertainment area with a bar, pool table, shuffleboard, TV, fridge, microwave, grill and wood stove. Wifi is available in the bunkhouse, although cell service is spotty throughout the property.
We are happy to provide an inclusive, full-course, evening meal for the entire party. We will cook up steaks, BBQ, hamburgers, or fresh game! However, breakfast and lunch will be on your own.&nbsp;
