The ranch offers some amazing waterfowl hunting with multiple lakes and marsh areas as well as 1.5 miles of the Snake River running along the northern border of the property.&nbsp;

This is a DIY duck hunt and there are quite a few different places on the ranch to hunt. This is not a duck lodge experience with blinds setup, decoy spreads out, etc.&nbsp;

This package can be up to 8 people and we have a minimum of $4,800 to book this package regardless of the number of sportsmen. So if you're a group of 2 or 3 sportsmen, you're welcome to book it but we'll have to charge the $4,800 minimum.

With over 46,000 acres of rolling, natural grass in the heart of the Sandhills in Nebraska, the Abbott Cattle Company is happy to welcome you to an impeccable habitat for waterfowl hunting! Originally homesteaded in the late 1800’s, this sixth generation working cattle ranch has provided an abundance of wildlife for over a century. In addition to the grasslands, our ranch consists of shelter belts, ponds, marshes and wet-land areas. We have 30 miles of spring-fed, open-water tributaries of natural rivers, creeks and man-made ditches, including an 11 mile stretch along the Snake River.&nbsp;
The ranch is comprised of two locations; Largest being the main ranch location and the smaller ‘tailbone,' ranch located 20 miles away. A variety of waterfowl can frequently be found throughout the entire ranch.&nbsp;
With such a remote and ample amount of land, we strongly recommend booking at least 2-3 days. However, we have no minimum for days booked. Prices are per gun per day. The nearest town is one hour away and the drive includes 35 miles of highway plus 9 miles of minimum maintenance gravel road (cars will get muddy if wet). It would be hard to fully appreciate the vast opportunities the land can provide in just one day!
Our lodging entails an old, ranch-style bunk house that has been well maintained. The bunk house has beds for nine people, plus a couch for a tenth. It includes plenty of chairs, a TV, fridge, microwave and full bathroom. In addition, the ranch barn hayloft is just 40 yards away and offers a great entertainment area with a bar, pool table, shuffleboard, TV, fridge, microwave, grill and wood stove. Wifi is available in the bunkhouse, although cell service is spotty throughout the property.
We are happy to provide an inclusive, full-course, evening meal for the entire party. We will cook up steaks, BBQ, hamburgers, or fresh game! However, breakfast and lunch will be on your own.&nbsp;

The Homestead is about 990 acres of pasture, alfalfa, CRP, and timber, with a stretch of the Spring Creek.
Our family-owned and operated ranch is located on the plains and grasslands of Southwest Nebraska in Chase County. We have over 4,000 total acres of farmlands, canyons, ponds, and beautiful creek bottom.&nbsp;
Hotels and lodging are available in Imperial, just 20 minutes from our property. Denver International Airport is only 3 hours away as well.

Lovejoy Ranch is a sixth-generation working cattle ranch owned and operated by Bob and Jody Dexter. We are nestled in the north-central region of the unique grass-covered dunes of the Sandhills, just a short 20-minute drive to Valentine, Nebraska.
Cattle grazing through proper grass management provides wildlife with perfect habitat. The Evergreen Creek flows East through the land, providing water to various ponds, creating a natural environment for waterfowl. El Lake, the beginning of the Evergreen Creek, is a small lake stocked with an abundance of bass, northern pike, and bluegill.
The Ranch has RV and tent camping available, but hotel lodging is available in a short drive. Valentine is a small town at the junction of two major US Highways, 20 and 83. You can find just about anything you need here— there are two gun stores, a bait shop, a grocery store, etc.
Although we don't have a minimum for days booked in a trip, we highly recommend booking multiple days to take full advantage of what our ranch can offer! Our family has had great success hunting the ranch and we look forward to sharing this with other sportsmen!

Nebraska Sandhills Waterfowl Hunt on Wetlands, Creeks + Lakes

During the migration season, the ranch is a stopping point for geese, cranes, swans, and other migratory birds. A professional birder with the US Fish &amp; Wildlife once said he saw more birds here than any other property he has ever been on.
Camping is permitted on the property.
The price is $250 per sportsman per day.
Duck/Coot:
The property is located in High Plains Zone 2 for Duck and Coot.
Teal:
The property is located in the High Plains Unit for Teal.
Dark Goose:
The property is located in the Dark Goose Early Zone (North Central Unit).
White-fronted Goose:
The entire state is open for the taking of white-fronted geese.
Light Goose:
The property is located in the West Zone for Light Goose.
The ranch is home to two creeks, the Calf Creek to the South and the Cow Creek to the North, and is only 3/4 of a mile from the North Loup River. The various dams, gravel pits, and water holes make the property a hot spot for fishing. Catching bass up to seven pounds isn't unheard of in our stocked ponds and lakes!&nbsp;

Waterfowl typically fly over our property, but if waterfowl hunters were to set up some decoys on our cropland you might have some success! 156-acre field of corn stalks available till January 1 typically.
We are a farming operation just west of Red Cloud, Nebraska. Our farm is located about 6 miles north of the Nebraska/Kansas border in Webster County. We grow corn, beans, and cover crops on our land. Our cropland and stubble are a great food source for Whitetails and other wildlife. We have rye growing till late May next year, then corn.
Our property also features Indian Creek, which runs north to south through the farm to the Republican River 1/2 mile away. We have dense tree cover along the creek, which is where the majority of the wildlife will be.
Our farm is situated about 70 miles from Kearney and 60 miles from Interstate 80.

Our property is a premier waterfowl destination! Our heated-goose blind sits a quarter of a mile from the North Loop River and in the midst of our irrigated cornfields, terrain that has attracted an abundance of game over the years.
We have a goose blind with propane heating that sits near irrigated cornfields and about a quarter of a mile from the North Loop River. This blind has assisted some extremely successful days for goose and duck hunting!

Located just a few miles from the town of Ord, Nebraska, this 2000-acre working cattle ranch sits at the heart of the beautiful cornhusker state. With the dry Sandhills to the north and lush green grasslands to the south, these rolling hills provide a little bit of everything. Family-owned and operated for over 80 years, this small-town ranch has expanded over the years to include some of the most pristine, biodiverse collection of land in the state.&nbsp;
Haskel Creek runs right through the property with other draws and river bottoms feeding into it. Meanwhile, the mix of grazing land and farm ground overlooks the North Loup River Valley, luring species of all sorts for nesting and breeding. The hardwood trees provide some protection; otherwise, the ranch has endless miles of serene, rolling fields.&nbsp;
The property is unique in that it is easily accessible via the county road. However, once you arrive on the property you are completely remote and can enjoy the peace and quiet. The town of Ord can provide great lodging options and other amenities if necessary. We do not have a minimum or maximum number of days for booking.
