We have a healthy population of whitetail deer on the property. On our 2 parcels with water, deer will bed in the tall surrounding grass.&nbsp;
Parcel #1, the farthest East piece with our house, will be archery only for whitetail while the other 2 will be archery or rifle. Deer hunting is permitted on all 3 parcels.

5-Day Whitetail Deer Hunt

These 40 acres are home to thick woods, a pond, open space, and the Salt Creek flowing through the middle.
&nbsp;The deer benefit from the dense layer of shelter and the multiple water sources that make up a good habitat.&nbsp;
Our cabin is available for booking at an additional rate to this package along with RV camping access. An outhouse sits on the property as well. For hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores Topeka is 38 miles North.&nbsp;
Pond/creek fishing is available along with this package. Fish you can expect to catch include catfish, bluegill, bass, and bullheads. 
This property is East adjacent to 140 acres of walk-in public hunting land.

These 145 acres are made of 2 streams, agriculture fields, wooded areas, and the Salt Creek running through the north end of the farm.&nbsp;
The deer benefit from the wooded shelter, agriculture, and sources of water.&nbsp;
RV camping access is available on the property. For hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores Topeka is 41 miles North.&nbsp;
Pond/creek fishing is available along with this package. Fish you can expect to catch include catfish, bluegill, bass, and bullheads.

3-Day Whitetail Deer Hunt

These 102 acres are made of open agriculture fields, thick shelter belts, 2 ponds, and a wood-covered stream that flows laterally through the property.&nbsp;
The deer benefit from the thick shelter belts, agriculture, and multiple sources of water.&nbsp;
RV camping access is available on the property. For hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores Topeka is 41 miles North.&nbsp;
Pond/creek fishing is available along with this package. Fish you can expect to catch include catfish, bluegill, bass, and bullheads.

Burr Oak Farms: Docking Road

A maximum of one hunting group (1-6 sportsmen) is permitted on the property. This group will have exclusive access to the property during the dates you book.
The Flying W Ranch is pleased to host sportsmen seeking a great hunting experience. We offer traditional and conservation hunts for Whitetail deer.
Our property's proximity to a two-mile stretch of the Cottonwood River makes for excellent hunting terrain.
We don't have any permanent stands set up; however, sportsmen are permitted to bring their own to hunt from.
Price is $200 per sportsman per day for the hunt.

The Flying W is located in Deer Management Unit 14.
For Whitetail Hunts in Unit 14, Non-Residents have a 71% chance of drawing with no preference points and a 100% chance of drawing with one preference point for Rifle, Muzzleloader, and Archery. Resident Tags are Over the Counter.

This large unit encompasses land in 14 counties around Emporia and features a diverse range of landscapes, including prairie land, farms, ranches, woodlots, and riparian brush and timber. The area supports good numbers of whitetail deer and is particularly favorable for bucks due to the availability of both feed and cover in close proximity. This is facilitated by the presence of numerous edges between timber, brushy draws, farmland, and prairie land.
