This package lets you bowhunt whitetail or mule deer for one day on the GFRO River Farm's northern section (~21 acres), which features dense forest and a stretch of the Coon Creek.
Hunters will have access to our tree stand and ground blind set up within twenty yards of our deer feeder, so you'll have everything you'll need for making that perfect shot.
The GFRO River Farm is a working farming operation in Garfield, Kansas, mainly producing corn, milo, and soybeans. The farm is located in Pawnee County, which has a rich history of the Westward Expansion that was formative to what is now Central Kansas and the rest of the Western US. The area features pieces of the Sante Fe Trail, American Indian artifacts, and wagon ruts that are worth checking out during your stay.
The farm is a great place for archery deer and dove hunting, carp fishing, birding, camping, and all kinds of other activities.
At this time no structured lodging is available; however, camping and RV stays (no hookups) are permitted on our southern parcel. Local lodging can also be found in Kinsley (9 miles), Larned (15 miles), and Great Bend (37 miles).

GFRO River Farm

Archery Deer Hunt: Northern Parcel Only- 21 Private Acres

The farm's habitat consists of heavy and wide tree-lined borders, which create isolated travel routes for big whitetails.	
Our Buck and Bobwhite property here in Stafford County is a great location for sportsmen to hunt in the Heart of Kansas. We farm milo on about 80 acres of land that's been in our family for four generations since 1915. This is prime habitat for wildlife. Our cropland is split in two by a thick shelterbelt, about 30 yards wide, that spans nearly the full length of the farm. Our southwest corner also consists of dense tree cover, while the eastern border of the farm is mostly brush.
The farm is located in Unit 5 for whitetail and is open for archery, rifle, and muzzleloader hunts this Fall.
Hunters looking to stay overnight on the farm are welcome to bring along an RV. There's ample space along the southern edge of the property and off the side of the road.

This unit stretches along both sides of the Arkansas River from Ness to Great Bend and almost to Hutchinson. It is known for its good whitetail hunting, with more pockets of brush and tree cover than other areas to the west.
