We are only doing three archery hunt groups this season so that we keep the pressure down on our property and the adjoining national Forest and BLM land. This hunt package includes up to four hunters, but you can bring wives and girlfriends to have supper ready for you when you get back to the lodge. They may enjoy shopping and sight seeing in Lewistown and Billings. Most hunt groups have two guys sitting in the shooting house over the pond each day while two other hunters do a typical bull rut hunt with cow calling and stalking in the national forest. We suggest the run and gun hunters hunt due west of the house and keep clear of the pond area so that the wildlife in that area is not disturbed for the still hunting. Most hunters trade out every other day sitting in the shooting house or hunting in the woods. If anyone in your group draws the archery me deer buck tag (535-50) you are welcome to harvest those on this hunt also. There are Whitetail deer in our area, but once the bulls start rutting, the whitetail seem to evacuate the area mostly. If all the members in your group don't draw bull tags, you can purchase cow tags over-the-counter to make sure you don't miss the hunt week.&nbsp;

This package allows access to harvest pheasants and other upland birds on the property. We'll be able to give you advice on where to go on the property and how to hunt each area.&nbsp;

Spring Valley Ranch is located on the Fort Peck Reservations and hunters are NOT required to purchase a Montana license but rather licenses online or over the counter through the Fort Peck Tribes Fish &amp; Game. Licenses for upland birds and pheasant are available yearly for out-of-state and Montana residents.

Calling all upland bird hunters! Our west ranch has some good ag ground with pivots closer to our house, which routinely hold pheasants. The remainder of the property is mostly grassland, providing other opportunities for pheasants in addition to huns and sharpies. Bird dogs are more than welcome!

This package includes hunting access to Sage and Sharptail Grouse, with the occasional pheasant!
This part of the ranch consists of over 7,000 acres.
It's recommended that you bring a side by side or ATV during your visit to get around our many acres.
A note on Access:
If it's rained and roads are wet/muddy, the ranch is completely inaccessible. Access to the ranch will be heavily dependent on weather. If we've gotten rain and roads are wet/muddy, we will work with you to either reschedule your trip or refund you in full as the ranch is completely inaccessible.
The ranch is located East of the Continental Divide for grouse and pheasant.

If you have wives, girlfriends, or kids, they are welcome to stay and enjoy the property or local shopping in the cowboy town of Ennis or historic Virginia City. There is a fully stocked private pond for fishing or kayaking! Limit of 1 non-hunter per guest, additional guests may be accommodated, please inquire for more information.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Your hunting party will have exclusive access to the entire property during your hunt. ATV's and UTV's are welcome on property, please stay on all designated roads only.
Lodging is in Bugler's Den:
This two story cabin will transport you back in time with the modern conveniences we all love. The top floor of the cabin sleeps up 4 people with one queen be and a daybed/trundle combo. It features a small kitchenette area with a mini fridge, gas stovetop and outside grill. The bottom floor of the cabin will sleep 2 with a King bed and full bathroom.
Fishing access to our private pond that is fully stocked with rainbow trout.
Our Ranch Manager: Chris Pittman, will be available for questions and help with area knowledge.

About Hunting MCR Ranch Properties
Wildlife is constantly moving to and from our land to feed, so there is no guarantee that they will be here on any single day. They tend to move down to our property towards the end of October through the rest of the season. We are also located near an abundance of public lands and Block Management properties.
It's important to remember that Muddy Creek Ranch is an active, grass-fed cattle ranch and cattle may be grazing at any time on our properties.

The ranch offers a ton of ground, just under 4,000 acres, for you and bird dogs to work. Bird populations are plentiful here, plus habitat is varied and amenable for wildlife. The ranch is uniquely situated to offer grassland and open space near the lower areas of the ranch, while the upper areas consist of more mountainous timber and draws.
Opportunity for pheasants and huns, with grouse as well on the upper roads/paths in the high ground.
