This package allows access to harvest pheasants and other upland birds on the property. We'll be able to give you advice on where to go on the property and how to hunt each area.&nbsp;
We have a huge amount of birds this year, much higher than we have had previously.
Abundant amount of food sources for the wildlife including alfalfa fields, wheat, lentil, and canola seeded crops. We also have a total of five different expired CRP fields that we left to grass to add extra cover and food for wildlife.
There are two different creeks that flow through the property, including one that runs year round on a normal year. A total of 4 dams/ponds, along with 3 solar-powered livestock tanks. Spring Valley community didn't get its name for nothing, many of the field waterways hold sloughs for wildlife to also get an afternoon drink.
The properties include six homesteads that are lined with thick shelter belts to provide cover for the wildlife. The pasture and range lands also over many draws for the birds and deer to get out of the Montana winds.&nbsp;
Spring Valley Ranch is located on the Fort Peck Reservations and hunters are NOT required to purchase a Montana license but rather licenses online or over the counter through the Fort Peck Tribes Fish &amp; Game. Licenses for upland birds and pheasant are available yearly for out-of-state and Montana residents.

Spring Valley Ranch

Pheasant + Grouse Hunt | Shelter Belts, Crops + Grassy Sloughs

Our ranch's wide open spaces and habitat diversity should bode well for upland hunters this Fall.	
Hofeldt Livestock is a family-owned and operated farm and ranch just south of Chinook, Montana. Our family homesteaded this land in 1892. To this day we continue to steward our land with our family's rich history in mind.
The property, about 10,400 acres in total, features three areas with diverse landscape and habitat.
Area 1:
About half a mile south of Chinook, this area consists of just over 755 acres right on the Milk River. In addition to our river bottom, we also have some cropland and pasture ground as well.
Area 2:
This should be our best spot for mule deer. We have 3,100 secluded acres of wide open prairie and grasslands with rolling hills. There's also some decent creek bottom with draws and small breaks.
Area 3:
Our biggest area is about 6,500 contiguous acres of rolling hills and prairie. The Bean Creek and Clear Creek both flow through the property. Around the Clear Creek will be sportsmen's best place to go for whitetail.
We are open to guests camping or RVing on the property; however, both Chinook and Havre offer nearby lodging and restaurant options.

Upland Bird Hunt on 3,300+ Acres about 40 Min from Great Falls

The olive trees along the river and our hayfields are a hotspot for our pheasant and grouse numbers!&nbsp;
Hunters may have some luck working the grass if there's no action down by the river. Cover is much more limited north of the highway as it's wide open country out there, so hunters should be aware of that. Our 8,600 acres north of the highway is surrounded by various pieces of BLM, State, and BMA lands.&nbsp;
Bird dogs are more than welcome!
With just over 15,600 acres in total, this is a vast ranch with lots of open ground north of the highway and hayfields adjacent to riverbottom south of the highway. We are located less than an hour north of Billings.
About the Ranch:
The original ranch stockright was established in 1882, making us the 3rd oldest ground ranched in the Musselshell area. We work the ranch with our sons, growing hay on the side as well. We love our piece of Montana, and we're excited to share it with you!

Hunt Grouse at Dry Creek Mountain Ranch.	
The Dry Creek Mountain Ranch is the perfect destination for bird hunters looking for a spot close to the Bozeman area. The ranch consists of 894 acres right off Dry Creek Rd, southeast of Townsend. The ranch includes a nice stretch of Dry Creek flowing through the southern portion of the ranch and several spring-fed creeks throughout the more mountainous portions of the property, which provide a variety of water sources, abundant grasses, terrain and shelter for wildlife.
The terrain is made up of steep draws and canyons, with sagebrush and pockets of timber scattered throughout. There's a good amount of deadfall, which can make hiking difficult in areas. We have a couple creek bottoms that cut through the ranch, which are thick with vegetation.
The County Road provides easy access for RVs as well. With our access to our private ground and nearby National Forest, this could make a great basecamp for the Fall. This property is close to the friendly small town of Townsend and Canyon Ferry Lake for summer and winter recreation.

Upland bird hunting around Flatwillow Creek will be allowed AFTER the General Deer season has closed. 
With water, food, and habitat readily available, the Kimmel Ranch has everything you need for a successful hunt!
Our land is loaded with pheasants. Everywhere you look, you’ll see birds. 
Flat Willow Creek runs year-round and meanders throughout the ranch for about 2.5 miles. The rest is rolling grasslands with a bit of sagebrush. A lot of the grazing land is native grass, however we have introduced some western wheatgrass.&nbsp;
My great grandpa bought this property back in 1953 as a cow/calf operation. Four generations later, I am helping to operate it in the same order. Kimmel Ranch consists of about 5,000 acres of private land, although we control a total of 10,000 acres of BLM and state land as well. We have implemented a fair amount of hay ground which the wildlife and birds appear to love.&nbsp;
The land is easily accessible with good roads going across the private land to get to the BLM land. Otherwise, you’re welcome to walk anywhere on the property. There are quite a few fences and gates, although they are very easy to open. We have tree stands and blinds up for deer and elk and we can easily help retrieve harvest if hunters wish for assistance.
We have plenty of space to park a camper/RV or pitch a tent. There is electricity at the house and we are happy to accommodate to make sure your experience is as enjoyable as possible. The nearest town of Roundup, MT is just 25 miles to the south with plenty of lodging and other amenities. There is no minimum or maximum number of days when booking, however we would like to cap hunters to groups of 3-4 for safety reasons.&nbsp;
We are happy to open access to our property for recreation and trust that visitors will be respectful of the land and leave it as they found it.&nbsp;

The Diamond D Farm &amp; Ranch consists of nearly 1,200 acres of wide-open prairie and rolling grasslands in Eastern Montana's McCone County. The ranch features draws and shelter belts, which provide great cover for the native wildlife. The Cow Creek also runs through a portion of the property.
Guests looking to bring RVs or camp on the property are more than welcome; however, lodging is also available in Wolf Point, Montana which sits 37 miles north of the ranch.
The ranch is also located 75 miles north of Interstate 94.
