Turkey Hunt

This package includes two full days of turkey hunting. The property has sections of thick timber that open up to hay fields and wide-open pasture. I will show the hunter the property and where they can and can't go.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Camping is allowed as long as the land is respected and "pack in pack out" common sense rules are followed.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Food is on the hunter but there is always a cup of coffee and fat to be chewed at the house for free.
Turkey hunters will most likely see Merriam's in this part of Montana.

Turkey run rampant on the ranch come Springtime in the Bulls! Growing up hunting the ranch, the birds typically move out of the Musselshell riverbottom-their home in the Fall-an up into the prime timber habitat of the Bull Mountains during the spring. This a fun hunt, chasing mountain Montana Merriam's!
The ranch features the following terrain and vegetation:

Nestled in the Bull Mountains of Montana, this rugged 100-acre parcel offers an unparalleled hunting experience. The diverse terrain features a mix of pine-covered ridges, secluded draws, and grassy bottoms, providing ideal habitat for a variety of game species.&nbsp;
The ranch represents Montana's Area 5 for spring turkey.
We've been hunting this land all my life. I'm happy to give you a heads up on a map where you can most often find them on our place, but I don't have a guide license, and I can't guarantee you a kill. Get there before light and mind your scent, you should be in good shape. I'd also recommend early in the season if possible. I like to stay out in the yurt and I'll tell you the elk will wake you up around 3 am and will tell you exactly where they are!
Group rates are available upon request for all of our packages. Folks typically don't hunt alone - no one wants to pack an elk out by themselves, but they also don't want to pay double just to have someone come with them. Please send us an inquiry, and we'd be happy to accommodate your group!

Bull Mountains Spring Turkey Hunt | 1.5 Hrs from Billings

This sprawling, beautiful property offers excellent turkey hunting.&nbsp;
Located in Kirby, MT, we've got just over 8,200+ acres of rolling wooded hills, craggy draws, and creek bottoms.&nbsp;
We have a very healthy population of turkeys and are offering turkey hunts for a minimum of two days.
An added perk is that the property is located across the road from the iconic Kirby Saloon. It is a great place to grab some lunch or have a drink after a successful hunt!
We've got great turkey populations, and it should be a fun, productive hunt. You can camp on the property during your hunt.&nbsp;

Spring Merriam Hunt on Sprawling Beautiful Land in Unit 5

Turkey hunters wil most likely encounter Montana Merriam's in this part of the state. Our cottonwoods and ag fields located very close to the Yellowstone make for great spring turkey hunting.
Michael Land is our 5th generation family farm, which consists of just over 640 acres on the Yellowstone River. The Ranch was homesteaded in 1920's and began as a sheep operation. We now currently farm the property and manage feedlots on site.
We have about half a mile of riverbottom, with additional access to smaller creeks and tributaries.&nbsp;
We are only about 15 minutes from Billings and just 20 minutes from Billings-Logan International Airport.

Creekside Farms

Our acreage is set up nicely for turkey hunters looking to bag a Montana Merriam. We have consistent turkey activity along the Upper Deer Creek in addition to our irrigated hayfields, which are are a food source. Turkeys will often hang around the corrals and pastures if you can call them out into your decoys!
Fall and Spring availability.
Turkey hunters should have success setting up a ground blind along the edge of the timbered creek looking out into the hay field.
The ranch is located in Area 5 for spring turkey. The ranch is a General area for Fall turkey.

Flying 7 Ranch

Creekbottom MT Merriam Hunt just outside Big Timber

We see turkeys in the Fall and the Spring in and around our 7 miles of riverbottom habitat.
If the turkeys aren't cooperating, you can hike further up into our ground in the timbered bluffs and foothills of the western Bull Mountains.&nbsp;

With just over 15,600 acres in total, this is a vast ranch with lots of open ground north of the highway and hayfields adjacent to riverbottom south of the highway.&nbsp;
About the Ranch:
The original ranch stockright was established in 1882, making us the 3rd oldest ground ranched in the Musselshell area. We work the ranch with our sons, growing hay on the side as well. We love our piece of Montana, and we're excited to share it with you!

Turkey populations in this unit are strong and hunters will find birds in fields along timbered river/creek bottoms as well as in the timbered coulees and breaks. Along with the over the counter statewide general turkey license, sportsmen can purchase a region specific license for a male turkey in the spring.
