This is a 5th Generation Ranch in the foothills of Valley County near Hinsdale, Montana. The ranch was started in 1909 by Harry Rutter, a true Montana pioneer. A visit to the ranch here in the Milk River Valley will help one experience the rich history of the land in addition to generations of faithful stewardship to the land.&nbsp;
Today, the Cattle Ranch is run on Rutter's same land, which the Christensen family also uses to grow forage and small grains.&nbsp;
Visit the property to find structures from Rutter's time, including a barn built in 1925.&nbsp;
Lodging at the 1909 Cattle Company is available for a flat $50 per night. The property's lodging also features a working sauna. We also are happy to welcome RV Campers, with access to our 30A electric hookups for a $50 per night rate.

MT Merriam's Turkey Hunt | Dryland Crops + Tree-Covered Ravine

Hunt gobblers at Dry Creek Mountain Ranch.

The Dry Creek Mountain Ranch is the perfect destination for hunters looking for a turkey destination close to the Bozeman area. The ranch consists of 894 acres right off Dry Creek Rd, southeast of Townsend. The ranch includes a nice stretch of Dry Creek flowing through the southern portion of the ranch and several spring-fed creeks throughout the more mountainous portions of the property, which provide a variety of water sources, abundant grasses, terrain and shelter for wildlife.
The terrain is made up of steep draws and canyons, with sagebrush and pockets of timber scattered throughout. There's a good amount of deadfall, which can make hiking difficult in areas. We have a couple creek bottoms that cut through the ranch, which are thick with vegetation.
The County Road provides easy access for RVs as well. With our access to our private ground and nearby National Forest, this could make a great basecamp for the Fall. This property is close to the friendly small town of Townsend and Canyon Ferry Lake for summer and winter recreation.

Mountain Merriam's Turkey Hunt | RV Camping Included

This package includes two full days of turkey hunting. The property has sections of thick timber that open up to hay fields and wide-open pasture. I will show the hunter the property and where they can and can't go.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The ranch is made up of a lower section (640 acres) and an upper section (960 acres) connected by a 640-acre piece of Montana State Land and an easement through a neighbors property. Both the lower and upper sections border tough-to-get-to pieces of Montana State Land, about 1,200+ additional acres.
Camping is allowed as long as the land is respected and "pack in pack out" common sense rules are followed.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Food is on the hunter but there is always a cup of coffee and fat to be chewed at the house for free.

The Coyote Gulch Ranch has been in our family since the late 40s. The property itself consists of two sections that are covered in timber with steep ridges and deep coulees. The upper section and a half are mostly open scrub brush in the coulees and provide excellent views of the Crazy, Beartooth, and Little Belt Mountain Ranges. One could almost see Livingston if the bend in the river didn't hide it! The ranch is about 1,600 acres total and opens access to an additional 1,200 acres of landlocked public lands.
The property is located 20 miles northeast of Big Timber and I-90.

The Storey Ranch is a 4th-Generation family ranching operation proudly located in Gallatin County. Situated on the banks of the Gallatin River just west of Bozeman, The Storey Ranch boasts abundant opportunity for both whitetail and mule deer. All packages are archery only.
Bowhunters are invited to the ranch to hunt our population of both mule deer and whitetail deer, in addition to Merriam's turkeys. We expect all hunters to take ethical shots at all times. If you wound a deer or turkey, that will count as your harvest.
After making the short drive from Bozeman, guests will be able to experience our beautiful property while also soaking in the rich history of the Storey Hereford Ranch, where you can see our family's impact on the land and the Hereford breed here in Montana.&nbsp;

About the Ranch:
The Sheehy Ranch's 5,000 acres is situated just 15 miles East of Big Sandy, Montana, in the foothills of the Bear Paw Mountain Range.&nbsp;
The ranch is a fifth-generation cow-calf operation that's been in the family since 1900. The ranch also grows hay on a small portion of its acreage.
The property itself is beautiful country, consisting of timber, rolling hills, coulees, streams, and even Mount Centennial.The property also has a rich history featuring teepee circles and several homestead sites. Timber from the property also supplied logs that were taken to build Fort Benton, the Birthplace of Montana.
Guests are welcome to stay in our 3-bedroom ranch house, which can comfortably sleep four to six guests. There is also a motel in big Sandy as well as three bars/restaurants and a grocery store. Guests can also make the short drives from Havre or Fort Benton.&nbsp;
All hunting and other experiences will take place on our property. We ask that you do not ask us or bother our neighbors for permission to use their property during your experience. Thank you!

About the Ranch:
The Black Ranch is a family-owned ranch that has proudly been in operation since before Montana became a state in 1889.&nbsp;
If you've driven to Big Sky before from Bozeman, you've seen our ranch, and most likely a large herd of elk, from the road!
Reeseplace is our upper portion of the ranch and consists of 2,300 acres that sit right at the gates of the Gallatin Canyon. Guests can look forward to stunning views of the Gallatin Valley, Spanish Peaks, and Bridger Mountain Range. The western border of the property features a 3/4 mile stretch of the Gallatin River that is sure to give any angler or kayaker a fantastic experience. Over the years, sportsmen have enjoyed a quintessential Montana hunting experience on the acreage. With that said, the property also sits adjacent to over half a million acres of the Gallatin National Forest making the opportunity to harvest big game endless!
While we are not offering lodging at this time, guests are invited to camp at one of the many campsites on the property or make the short commute to and from Bozeman (20 minutes) or Big Sky (35 minutes).

Mountain Merriam's Turkey Hunt | Prime Foothills Terrain

We have a small flock of turkeys that will hang out on the hillsides.

The ranch is a 110-year-old family property rich in history and amazing beauty with its spectacular views of the Spanish Peak range.&nbsp;
There is over a mile of the West Gallatin River running through the bottomland of the property. The river property also includes a couple of islands that are ideal for archery hunters if you are up for a little adventure.
It is strongly recommended you bring appropriate gear for crossing the river. Fishing waders and boots make crossing a bit easier. We recommend you follow the track on onX for best path to the island. Extra socks and water-proof storage for your phone is also strongly recommended in case you fall in. The Ranch supports a herd of Red Angus cattle, mule deer, whitetail deer, private fishing access on the river and abundant waterfowl. We are located 12 miles from Bozeman and the airport.
