Ahlgren Ranch North

Antelope Doe Hunt

The property is split by Montana Highway 200, which is also a boundary for the big game hunting districts. The acreage north of the highway, about 1,000 acres, represents GMU 481 for antelope. The acreage south of the highway, about 1,900 acres, represents GMU 420 for antelope. 
The hunt can be really fun for bowhunters when we have the hay baled up! You can hunt both sides of the highway with a 900 archery tag.
The hay fields and livestock tanks are solid for antelope.
In addition to our private acres, we share multiple borders with State, BLM, and Block Management lands, which is good for additional access and for public pressure pushing wildlife onto the ranch.&nbsp;
The McDonald Creek, which is located on our acreage south of the highway, is a highly productive area for hunting, in addition to the timbered foothills that can be found south of the creek.
RV and tent camping is available to add on to your packages.&nbsp;

We ask that all bookings have a minimum of two sportsmen.									
Prior to your hunt, either myself or a local outfitter will give you a tour around property, take you to blinds, and provide with info needed to have a successful hunt. Your hunt is DIY and unguided, and your group will have exclusive access to the ranch for your dates without anyone else out there; however, I prefer we have this conversation to ensure everyone is on the same page and ultimately has a memorable experience!

Unit 481 is in central Montana, with the town of Winnett as its south boundary and the Missouri River as its north boundary. Antelope can be found scattered throughout the unit. The population of antelope in this district has been impacted by a disease outbreak in 2009, and it has taken some time for the area to recover. However, the numbers are now stable and showing slight increases.
